10 St Patrick's Day Cake Pop Ideas

I absolutely LOVE cake pops.  I make them whenever possible, for any occasion possible.  But unfortunately, no matter how much I wish it, I don't seem to have any skill or talent in decorating cake pops so they look cute.

So while, I will probably have green cake pops this year, none of them will be near as cute as these guys.

1. St Patrick's Day Pops by Dollhouse Bake Shoppe.

2. Shamrock Cake Pops from jigonzalez at Cake Central.

3. Leprechaun Cake Pops by Cake Ball Addiction.

4. Leprechaun Hat Cake Balls by Frost It Bakery.

5. Four Leaf Clover Cake Balls by Sweet Lauren Cakes.

6. Pot of Gold Cake Pops by Beki Cook's Cakes.

7. Rainbow Cake Pops by Munchin Muncies.

8. Pot of Gold Cupcakes by The Kurtz Corner.

9. Spring Cake Pops by Unknown.

10. St Patrick's Day Cake Balls by Karin O'Brien.

Don't those just inspire you to want to go make cake balls?  Maybe I'll be adventurous and give them a go.  After all, the mistakes taste as good as the pretty ones!

St Patrick's Day Candy Party Favors

I've been in the candy topper mood again.  There are just so many cute ways you can use these fun toppers that it makes it almost impossible for me to stop wanting to make more.  These would make fun classroom gifts, or co-worker gifts, or treats to leave in your kids' lunches, or friend gifts, or.... the list could go on and on.

Unfortunately, my site is down for repairs right now  (I guess my bandwidth has issues), so while I get that taken care of (Yea, who knows when my IT guys are actually going to get on that and follow through) I'm going to send you to my Hubby's etsy shop where he has some of our Printables listed.

It's kind of cool right now too.  Etsy just added a way that  you can download your files directly upon completion of purchase.  No more waiting for the files to be emailed to you.

I know I HATE waiting for files.  I get that people have lives, but when you are in the mood to create, you want to get started on it IMMEDIATELY. You don't want to wait until the file comes through.  By then the kids could be acting up, or dinner may need to be cooked, or a thousand other REAL LIFE items may come in front of the creative process.

It's really a Bummer.

But now, you don't have to wait.  You can instantly download your purchase (on everything but the personalized items)!  Pretty cool.

So now you can go get any of our new, or older, St Patricks Day Candy Treats.

Lucky To Have You St Patrick's Day Party Shopping

I had planned to show you a few more Valentine crafts last week, but the holiday just got away from me.  That, and we had a few unexpected, "hiccups" in our life.  We found that we have to move in the next 4 weeks, but only have a few days to actually find a place to live.  So we are busy scouring town for a new house.

So, I don't know how much St Patrick's Day decorating I'll actually get done, but I am living vicariously through my online shopping today.  I was searching the small shops of Etsy looking for some fun St Patrick's day party items to show you, when I stumbled upon a super fun shirt (yes, it's featured today!)  I had to immediately order it for the Drama Queen. (Yes, because she needed ANY more close to have to move.)

But for those of you who aren't in a panic trying to find a new place to live, here are a few fun party items to make your St Patrick's Day party a little sweeter.

Valentine Kiss Song Playlist

Our town's big Chocolate Walk is this weekend.

I decided to go with a Kiss theme.  I thought it would be perfect with Valentine's day and chocolate.  Despite having known this was coming for a while now, I'm still running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to finish off all my Kiss projects.  I hope I'll be able to show them to you soon, but in the meantime, I wanted to share this simple addition to our Valentine Kiss Party.

Since we are having a Kissing booth and decorating with kisses, I wanted to have kiss music going on in the background.  Not KISS music...I was never a fan of Hard Rock, but music that has songs with "Kiss" in the lyrics.

Being too cheap Not wanting to go out and buy all these songs, I made a playlist of YouTube videos with 20 songs with the word "Kiss" in them.  I put a mix of several different types of music genres so it would work for just about anyone that comes through our door.

Hopefully, this will give your Valentine party a sweet kiss too!

You can play it here or find it HERE on YouTube.

Here is a list of what's included.  (Not in any order.)

  • This Kiss by Faith Hill.
  • Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid
  • Kiss Me Quick by Elvis Presley
  • Kiss On My List by Hall & Oats
  • When You Kiss Me by Shania Twain.
  • Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle.
  • Kiss Me Like You Mean It by Air Supply
  • Kiss Me Softly by Journey
  • Kiss Me by Avril Lavigne
  • Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not by Thompson Square
  • It's In His Kiss by Betty Everett
  • Kiss You by One Direction
  • Then He Kissed Me by The Crystals
  • Sugar Candy Kisses by Mac & Katie Kissoon
  • You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This by Toby Keith
  • Shut Up & Kiss Me by Mary Chapin Carpenter
  • That's How You Know from Enchanted
  • Kiss by Prince
  • Just A Kiss by Lady Antebellum
  • Kissed You Goodnight by Gloriana.

10 Non-Candy Valentine Ideas

As painful as it may be to me to say this, our schools are becoming much more "health conscience" of what we bring for Valentine's day.  Mini-Me's school is like this.  There are so many restrictions on what can and can't be brought to school for parties ("IF" they are even allowed to have a party...) that it's getting a little out of control.

Mini Me's class is still having a Valentine's party this year.  (Not sure how much longer that will go on..) but they aren't allowing Valentine's to be brought and definitely NO Sweets are allowed.  Instead, we have to send money so they can go and buy fruits and vegetables for the party.

Not that my children always need to have candy.  As a matter of fact, it's really rare for us to have sweets in the house, and even despite having two candy stores in the family, they don't really eat much candy.  But are we taking the fun away from the holidays when we deny all sweets?  What about the tradition of those cheesy Valentine's with the yummy treats and crazy sayings?  My youngest will probably never know that.  And I think it's sad.

But in the new tradition of non-candy Valentine's here are 10 fun ones that I am filing away before all Valentine's parties are banned from society.  (Not bitter here or anything, am I?)

1.  Can't Smile Without You Valentine from Jac o'lyn Murphy.

2. Whoopee Cushion Valentine from Paging Supermom.

3. Valentine's Calculator from Lil' Luna.

4. Valentine Eye Chart from Tater Tots and Jello.

5. Magnifying Glass Valentine from Dandee Designs.

6. You're the Raisin Valentine from Just Married with Coupons.

7. Homemade Bubble Valentine from Domestic Charm.

8. Blow Me A Kiss Valentine from I Am Momma.

9. You Are Cute As A Button Valentine from Thirty Handmade Days.

I hope that gives you a few ideas if you have to go "no-candy" for Valentines.  Or am I the only one?
