5 Valentine Treats and Dare to Share Saturday

I'm a little bummed today.  We were supposed to have our annual sledding party tomorrow, but the weather has shifted and we have no snow.  We might get some on Monday, so we're still hoping for a little bit of fun and mayhem, but for now, we are just moving on towards the next chance to party and have fun.

That means the Super Bowl and Valentine's.  It's so hard to decide which one to focus on.  Our entire town is decked out for the Broncos.  I can't believe the crazy things I've seen in shop windows and flying from houses and cars.  I guess that's what happens when you are only a few miles from Denver and the football spirit soars.

But I'm also ready for some candy treats and Valentine fun.  So if you missed it, here are 5 valentine treats from last week's Dare to Share Saturday.

My friend and co-host Pam from Pam's Party and Practical Tips isn't lacking for snow where she lives.  I think some of you got so much that you'd gladly share, but instead, I just get to enjoy your wonderful ideas instead.

If you missed some of her great Snow Day ideas, she's sharing them on her blog this week.  I am still hoping for a little snow so we can enjoy some of the fun treats and ideas she shared on her Spectacular Snow Day.

Did you get snowed in this week?  What have you been up to?  I can't wait to see.

With all the snow around the country, I thought it would be a perfect time to share some of the great hot chocolate recipes that I've been collecting for my sledding party.  I haven't quite decided which 5 I'm going to use yet because they all look so delicious, but these are the 10 contenders that I am toying with.

Which ones do you think I should use?  Which one looks like it would be your favorite?

"If you can't fly - run. If you can't run - walk. If you can't walk - crawl. But by all means - Keep moving." This quote by Martin Luther King is a great one to keep you taking one step at a time when things get hard and the dreams seem so far away.

5 Valentine Ideas and Dare to Share Saturday

Wow, this last week was a rough one. I don't know what it is, but I have not been myself at all and everything has been way harder than it needs to be. I hope you'll forgive me for not posting features at last week's Dare to Share party.  After two hours of fighting my computer, I just gave up and posted the party.  I don't know what was going on, but hopefully my computer got it out of it's system and we are ready to party again.

Is this just a January thing? There's something about the middle of the month that really starts to get me down and out every year.  I'm hoping by planning our sledding party soon that it will have given us all something to look forward to so it won't be too bad, but we'll see.

I've also been busy with a new blog that I started. I have really found my fandom with reading and all the fun movies lately.  I didn't realize that there was so much more out there than the books that I loved to read, so I am sharing my book wish lists, book related crafts, and some fandom reviews over at
The Treasured Bookshelf.  Please go check it out if you love to read too.

In the meantime, curl up with some hot chocolate and enjoy all the fun Valentine's crafts and ideas I found at last week's Dare to Share Saturday.  I hope they give you some ideas to get your Valentine's off to a sweet start.

Pam from Pam's Party and Practical Tips is also off to a sweet start this year.

She's showing all kinds of great ideas on how to throw a Candy themed party.  I would just love to go to one of her parties and maybe try some of this Candy Sushi.  It is certainly the only way I'd ever eat sushi.  I  just don't have the stomach for it any other way.  What about you would your rather have real sushi or this candy version?

I can't wait to see what you've been up to this week.
