I love back to school time. I love when school supplies go on sale. I love being able to use those supplies to help organize and decorate my life.
I've totally fallen in love with the mini notebooks that you can find at Walmart. You know the ones that fit a half size piece of paper. They are about 8 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide.
They are perfect for organizing so many things. I've recently started using them to organize my recipes. I have so many saved recipes on my Pinterest boards. I would love to actually start trying them and using them, but I'm rarely near my computer after the kids get home. So when we want to bake and create, it's hard to find the recipes we want.
So I've created a few recipe mini notebooks to help me grab the recipes I want to try. Since I have so many saved, I've decided to create one for each of the main recipes I bake and create. But I couldn't have them just plain and boring, I needed some inspiration and decoration. So I designed up a few different notebook covers using plastic canvas patterns.
Today, I'm sharing the Watermelon mini notebook plastic canvas pattern with you in case you want to decorate and organize while the kids are at school this year.
The pattern is pretty easy to sew using a designed Gobelin stitch, which is basically a straight up and down stitch on the canvas.
Once you have done that, just decide the personalization you want on the spine. I've included a complete A-Z alphabet in both upper case and lower case so you can write whatever you want onto the spine.
Then, sew it all together. I have instructions included in the free mini notebook pattern.
