I was talking with a friend this morning and we stumbled upon the topic of what was wrong with the world today.
There is so much going wrong. So many things falling apart. So much negativity and unhappiness.
Why?
My theory centered around the home and family.
When parents stop teaching their children the importance of trials, of difficulties, of family, and of friendship, things start falling apart.
Now whether you want to blame things on the governments or the schools, I feel like it eventually comes back to the family. We can't expect someone else to police or teach our children. We must be their parents.
We must teach them how to handle problems when they come around. How to get up and dust themselves off when they fail. How to handle when their brother, their friend, their classmate is mean. We must prepare them for life.
We must find the positive in every day. We must teach our kids to do that too.
In doing so, I started collecting a bunch of motivational quotes that I can print off and put on my bathroom mirror, in the kids' lunchboxes, around the house...everywhere we need to be reminded to "surround ourselves with tacos, not negativity."
