A New Piece for my Wardrobe

I am so excited to share this!

I have been looking for a way to carry my iphone with me at all times. I get in so much trouble when I miss a call, but I don't like to carry my phone in my pocket. I haven't had good luck with that experience at all.

Since it's my medium of choice outside of the computer, I tried to make myself a carrier from plastic canvas. It worked great, for a little while. I put it on a lanyard around my neck, but the canvas kept ripping. I knew that wasn't going to work.

I looked online and local trying to find someone who could make exactly what I wanted. No luck. I did find something that I thought I could use at FYE while I was Christmas shopping. But I didn't buy it because I had a gift card at home that made it free. When I went back the next day, it was gone. (I did get some other GREAT buys that day, but that's a different story.)

So I've been looking. There's a few on Etsy that I really like, but the price was just more than I wanted to pay. So I finally found a pattern that I really liked by Pacific Designs on etsy. You can see it here. It was great since I could customize it to be exactly what I wanted. And the directions were SUPER easy--even for someone of my sewing ability.

So I bought the pattern and ran out and got some really cute fabric. I absolutely LOVE the blue and brown fabrics out there. They are so cute. Plus, it matches my purse perfectly. I came home, printed out the pattern and got ready to sew.

OOPPSS...then I found I had lost the power cord to my sewing machine. I had let a friend borrow it and didn't know what I did with it when she returned it. I looked everywhere. I was so frustrated. (I HATE HATE HATE to look for things. I'd rather have my toenails yanked out!)

Finally a week later, I came across it in an intense day of "search and rescue." (We have several things that are missing, and I was fed up.) Well, that was my only find that day. But I was super excited!

So I sat down this morning and made my iphone case. It was so easy and only took me about an hour. Now, TADAH! It's done. And it's uber cute!!! I had trouble find a swivel hook, so I found something that would work in the purse section of Joann's. I love that I can now wear it on my pants, hook it onto my purse, or where it on my lanyard!

It's perfect and I'm so excited!

A Twilight Wedding

I've done a lot of weddings...mostly I've done candy bars and a few other fun favors.
This is the first time I've done a Twilight themed wedding. I can't imagine how fun this wedding will be to visit.
The bride contacted me telling me she was going to have a Twilight themed wedding in Vail under the light of a full moon. Her colors were black a blue with a sparkly feel. She wanted some door plaques that she could give her guests as an original gift for coming and staying with her at Vail.
I admit that I was pretty excited about the concept and it was fun to work with her and design these plaques.
I think they turned out pretty cool! I hope her guests think so. It's opened a whole new idea to my door plaques and I've added simple wedding and love themed name plaques to my store. Never even thought of that before!
Thanks Melanie and Congrats on your wedding this weekend!
