Thanksgiving is coming and til the season to Gobble 'til you Wobble.
I'm working on my Thanksgiving dessert table, because like I told you, dessert is my favorite part of Thanksgiving. So of course, I need a dessert table that will most likely make me sick and unable to move all weekend.
When you are putting together a dessert table for any occasion, it's good to have different sizes and heights on your dessert plates. This gives your table dimension and visual interest.

I plan to put some yummy Thanksgiving pie alternatives on the table so I needed some long, beautiful Thanksgiving platters to hold cookies and such on my dessert table. But have you seen the prices on beautiful Thanksgiving platters? Yikes.
So of course, I decided to make my own.
I designed up a Gobble 'til you Wobble full page printable that matches my dessert table theme. Then, I shopped my craft stash for a:
- 9x12 inch ceramic tile (you can get one from Lowes or Home Depot in the flooring section)
- short, clear candlestick (you can find them at Dollar Tree in the candle section)
- E6000 glue (find this in any craft store or Walmart in the glue section)
- pretty paper or print out the Gobble til you Wobble Thanksgiving printable at the bottom of the page
- Modge Podge
Start by using Modge Podge to glue your craft paper or the Gobble til you Wobble printable to your 9x12 inch ceramic tile. Do this by painting a layer of Modge Podge to the back of the paper and the placing it in the center of the tile.
Allow your paper to dry. Using a think layer of Modge Podge, paint the front of the platter over the paper to seal the paper to your tile and make it more dirt resistant.
Lay a generous amount of E6000 glue to the rim of the top of the glass candlestick. Center the tile on top of the candlestick and allow to dry in place.
Now you can use your Thanksgiving platter for all kinds of dessert table needs. You can make these for any occasion and they are big and sturdy enough to use for most cookies and treats.
What kind of party theme or treats would you use this DIY platter for?
