Dress up your boring napkin holder with this cute and easy plastic canvas pattern. This Bunny Butt will be the perfect addition to your Easter table and will be sure to make everyone smile.
One of my secrets to throwing a good party cheap, is to find great items and use them in different ways.
For example, find a good set of plates and style them different ways. (I like to use clear ones from Walmart and add cute plate inserts.)
Another great item is to buy a plastic napkin holder from Dollar Tree and create fun napkin holder covers in different styles like this Donkey Kong napkin holder, or this Snowman face cover, or this St Patrick's day clover napkin holder.
It makes it so easy to take one item and reuse it in fun ways with little bit of work.
To make this Bunny Butt napkin holder, start by printing off the plastic canvas pattern below. Then cut two 41x41 hole plastic canvas squares out of 7 count plastic canvas. Use the pattern to sew one of the squares in the cover design.
The great thing about this is you can sew it in any color that you like. Want a pink bunny? Go for it. Want a white one to match your table décor? Go ahead. You can use any color to match your Easter table.
When you are done sewing the pattern, overcast the bottom edge. Then lay the unsewn piece of canvas against the back side and sew up the three remaining edges to join the pieces together. This will leave you with a pocket that you can slide down over the napkin holder piece.
Using the bunny paw pattern, cut out and sew two bunny paws for the bottom of your napkin holder.
Use the same colors as you did for your napkin holder and a coordinating color for the pink area shown.
When complete, glue the bunny paws on the bottom of the napkin holder at a slight angle. Glue a large white (or coordinating color) pompom at top between the bunny paws.
Repeat to make a back side for your Napkin Holder.
Slide the open end of your bunny butt over the plastic sides of your napkin holder. Add the second bunny butt for the other side. Add your napkins and place on your Easter table.
