I'm hoping to wrap up my preparations for the Pixel Arcade Party this week. I still have a few party decorations and party desserts to make, so I wanted to share an easy printable for the dessert table today.
This barrel is straight from the Donkey Kong game and is rolling down the dessert table to hold a fun party cake or yummy party treats.
I designed up this Donkey Kong barrel printable to be tall enough to stand out on the back of the dessert table and hold treats so the treats would be multi-tired and give visual stimulation to the table.
To make one, you'll need to print out the cake plate barrel printable at the bottom of the page. Depending upon how full you want your barrel to be will depend upon how many pieces you print out. (I started with 2 sheets, but will probably make another one a little fuller before the party.)
Cut out the barrel pieces and score the white piece along the edge. Fold that piece in carefully.
Glue the pieces together, curving the edges as the glue dries. This will allow the barrel to have a curved edge and be thicker in the middle than the top and the bottom.
If you use a glue stick, be prepared to take your time, holding each piece down as it dries to secure. It might be easier to use a glue gun (but mine is still packed from the move and I haven't found it yet, so I could see how much easier it was.)
Once your barrel is complete, you might need to give the cake plate a little support inside. I used a Family Sized Chicken Noodle Soup Can and a Vegetable Can stacked on each other to support my plate, but it was light enough I probably didn't need it.
Now place your plate on top of your Donkey Kong Barrel and fill with desserts for your Arcade party or Video Game party or even an 80s party!
