30 Days of Summer 2016

With the summer season upon us, life can get pretty crazy.  There is always something going on...a party to attend, a family activity, or some fun summer activity.

So I came up with a fun idea to help us all get through the crazy month of June.  It's my annual 30 days of free printables.  I did this last year and it was such a big hit, that I'm doing it again.

Every day, I will (try) to update this page with all the free printables.  I hope they help you to have some extra summer fun this year.

5 Patriotic Candy Bar Wrapper Printables

With Memorial Day here, I am thinking alot about all those I love in my life who are part of the military or plan to be part of the military someday.  As I was sitting at my son's ROTC awards ceremony last week, I couldn't help but look at those kids and hope and pray for their safety over the next few years.

I know we need them and their self less sacrifices everyday.  The world is a crazy place and only going to get crazier as they grow.  I am so grateful for the service of all the men and women who give their all each and every day so we can be free.

While it seems crazy to honor their sacrifices with a candy bar, I am sure a little chocolate thank you would be appreciated today, or any day of the year.  So here are 10 patriotic candy bar wrappers to make your Memorial Day party or thank you a little sweeter.

3 Great Party Ideas and Dare to Share Linky Party

So sorry for the crazy link up and lack of posts this week.  We moved into the hotel on Wednesday when the movers came and started packing us up.  We'll be living here for the next week and a half while my Dear Hubby finishes up work and the kids finish school.  Then we are off on our adventure.

Because it was such a crazy week, I haven't had any time to get near my computer.  I'm hoping that will slow down after this weekend and I'll get back on a decent schedule.  I'm working on my 30 days of free printables for the month of June.  I did that last year while we were on vacation.  (You can check it out here.)  It worked so well, I'm hoping it will work as we travel across country to our new home.

Of course, nothing ever goes quite as planned, so in the meantime, check out these 3 great party ideas from all the fun links you shared at last week's Dare to Share linky party.

I'm still working on the plans for our Adventure Awaits party Memorial Day weekend.  It's going to be a goodbye/birthday party for my boys before we move.

I hope I can get it all together enough to have a fun candy buffet at the party.  Since we are living in a hotel now and the movers are finishing packing up my life at home, I'm not sure what's going to happen in the next few days.  But I have a plan and hopefully it will all work out.

One of the best things about having a kids party is being able to rename the food to coordinate with the party theme.  I love to do this (did you see my Alice in Wonderland dessert table?) and have big plans for this weekend.

I want to have things like:

Bike Wheel M&Ms
Zipline Licorice
Floatie Gummy Rings
Snow Shoe Pretzels
Train Smoke Marshmallows
Balloon Suckers

I found the best way to rename the food and still get the kids to want to eat it, is to use candy and food that they already love (like M&Mx) or make sure you make table cards with both the fun "new" name and the regular name so guests know what they are eating.  (This also helps with any allergies.)

I use printable table cards to do this.  They are definitely one of my go to party printables.  You can see how I make them with full directions here.

I like to make my table cards so they fold into a triangle.  That way you can add a small rock or other heavy object inside the card.  This keeps it from blowing away if you're having an outdoor party.

I made these Adventure Awaits table cards to match my Adventure Awaits candy bar printable.  They have an old world style map on the background.  If you want to have these match the candy bars too, use Niagara Solid as your font.

I hope these work for you and get your fun food ideas flowing!

My brain is on complete over load right now.  I have so much happening in the next few days that I need to get my rear in gear and get the party plans set and out of the way.  I seem to be only making one step a day towards completion, but at least there's that.  (This is real world party planning, right?)

I am trying to stay away from chocolate for the most part at this party since it will be during the hot memorial day weekend, but all of my kids' friends no me as the chocolate lady, so I knew I needed to have one last candy bar and wrapper as our goodbye party favor.

So I'm sharing this Adventure awaits candy bar wrapper with you.  You can see the video of how I wrap my candy bars here.  The foils that I use are here.  Go ahead and save the candy bar wrapper and print it out on to Kodak picture paper for a good quality print.

If you aren't throwing a goodbye party, this candy bar wrapper would be a great thank you to so many other different party ideas.  You can give it out as a good bye gift for school's end, you can give it as a graduation thank you, you can give it as a birthday party thank you, or just about anything.  I love that it's so versatile.
