Rock your fireplace mantel or dinner table with this easy football candlestick. It's a great decoration for your Superbowl football party, your NFL Football viewing party, or to support your son's local football team. Your kids will love this quick and easy craft they can help with that gives a big WOW factor for your party guests.
I'm working on my Football mantel right now. I have so many ideas that I'm having trouble getting them all done. So I thought I'd go with a quick and easy project today that really caused a WOW! factor to how the mantel is turning out.
I started with some old soup cans that I cleaned and removed the labels from.
I then spray painted the soup can and a Dollar Tree candlestick a football brown. After the paint dried, I used my white sharpie paint pen to draw stripes on the can to resemble a football.
I then glued the bottom of the soup can to the candlestick and tied some Football Craft Ribbon to the top of the candlestick. I thought about using some ribbon that matched our school colors, but they are black and gold, and that wouldn't have stood out very well against the brown of the football. So instead I used some football ribbon.
A regular, short Dollar Tree candle fits perfect on top of the soup can to form a perfect and fun football candle stick for your football party.
Oh my word, those are cute! I might need a football mantle for college football season!
