I am so excited to share this!
I have been looking for a way to carry my iphone with me at all times. I get in so much trouble when I miss a call, but I don't like to carry my phone in my pocket. I haven't had good luck with that experience at all.
Since it's my medium of choice outside of the computer, I tried to make myself a carrier from plastic canvas. It worked great, for a little while. I put it on a lanyard around my neck, but the canvas kept ripping. I knew that wasn't going to work.
I looked online and local trying to find someone who could make exactly what I wanted. No luck. I did find something that I thought I could use at FYE while I was Christmas shopping. But I didn't buy it because I had a gift card at home that made it free. When I went back the next day, it was gone. (I did get some other GREAT buys that day, but that's a different story.)
So I've been looking. There's a few on Etsy that I really like, but the price was just more than I wanted to pay. So I finally found a pattern that I really liked by Pacific Designs on etsy. You can see it here. It was great since I could customize it to be exactly what I wanted. And the directions were SUPER easy--even for someone of my sewing ability.
So I bought the pattern and ran out and got some really cute fabric. I absolutely LOVE the blue and brown fabrics out there. They are so cute. Plus, it matches my purse perfectly. I came home, printed out the pattern and got ready to sew.
OOPPSS...then I found I had lost the power cord to my sewing machine. I had let a friend borrow it and didn't know what I did with it when she returned it. I looked everywhere. I was so frustrated. (I HATE HATE HATE to look for things. I'd rather have my toenails yanked out!)
Finally a week later, I came across it in an intense day of "search and rescue." (We have several things that are missing, and I was fed up.) Well, that was my only find that day. But I was super excited!
So I sat down this morning and made my iphone case. It was so easy and only took me about an hour. Now, TADAH! It's done. And it's uber cute!!! I had trouble find a swivel hook, so I found something that would work in the purse section of Joann's. I love that I can now wear it on my pants, hook it onto my purse, or where it on my lanyard!
It's perfect and I'm so excited!
