Party Shopping for Shoes

I have never been a HUGE clothing person.  My best buds will tell you it's like pulling teeth to get me to go clothes shopping. I HATE to do it.  When Drama Queen asks to go, she usually sets me in a corner and comes back every half hour to show me her conquests.  It's just not my thing.

But I will share a big secret with you.  I do have a thing for shoes.  I don't know why.  I try VERY hard not to.  I don't want to be the stereotypical woman who has a thousand pairs of shoes in her closet that she never wears.  But I LOVE to buy new shoes for BIG events and parties that I'm going to.

This is my favorite pair of shoes EVER.  I can't for the life of me remember where I bought them.  But I love that they are ankle boots and look so good with jeans.  I don't usually wear heels, but I am a shorty at 5 foot 3 inches and Dear Hubby is 6 foot 6 inches.  So I like to wear them when we go out because they make me feel a little sexier and taller.  (Both benefits in my book!)

This is a pair of shoes that we just bought for Drama Queen from Amazon.  I admit that I didn't think I would like them when we purchased them, but they look so cute on her.  She's had every one from OLD ladies to young girls asking her for where she got them.  (You can find them with this link Converse Chuck Taylor All Star XX Hi Black Zipper men's 7.5/ women's 9.5.)  I think they will be perfect for our Rock and Roll party so I'm debating on whether to get a pair for me or not.  (And she's actually okay with it if I were to match her...isn't she a WINNER of a daughter?  Not ashamed of Mom at all...until I start dancing, then it's out the door.)

I admit that I am SERIOUSLY considering these boots.  My old pair died and I just haven't found ones that I like yet.  They are normally super expensive, but Shoe Carnival has them on clearance for $30.00.  That's not too bad a price for a new pair of shoes.

I'm also eyeing this pair.  I don't know why.  I have nothing they would ever go with and I am not a brave enough dresser to wear them on their own, but darn they are fun!  Shoe Carnival also has a set almost like it on Clearance for $18.00.  That almost makes it okay to buy "just in case" don't you think?

What makes it even better and more affordable to go shoe shopping is that Shoe Carnival is having a promotion right now where you can get $5.00, $10.00 or $15.00 off your $30.00 purchase.  Isn't that awesome?  If you shop online, you get one of the discounts RANDOMLY taken off your total (before taxes.) If you are lucky and visit Shoe Carnival often because you have a store in town, you can print out this coupon and get the discount at the register.

I'm thinking I may just get a new pair of shoes this weekend!  What about you?

Disclosure:  I am not getting paid for this post.  I just really like shoes.  There may be affiliate links involved, but no sponsorship from Shoe Carnival.  So enjoy your shopping, I do!
