Easy Thanksgiving Candy Cup Party Favors and Free Printable

Easy Thanksgiving Candy Cups

I am often amazed at the creative ways my fellow crafters and bloggers can look at insignificant, recyclable, or bare item in a store or their kitchen cabinets and see the unlimited potential hidden within.  It's not a talent that I have, but one I am constantly working to develop.  So when I found these cute containers hidden in the plastic kitchen section at Dollar Tree, I had to pick them up and find a fun use for them.

After I made them into Pumpkin Candy Containers last year to hand out at my Halloween party, I new they needed to find a home in my other parties.  They are the perfect size to fit just a small little treat and hide them in your pocket or purse for later.  And at 10 for $1.00, the price can't be beaten either.

Using some old clipart I found, I made up a few 2 inch sized circles to fit the lids. I used 6 different graphics so there would be style and a wish for each of the different guests.

Home Made Modge Podge Recipe

Normally, I use my beloved Xyron Sticker Maker to make these circles into stickers, but since everyone out there does not have one of these amazing little machines, I decided it would be a good excuse to try out the homemade Modge Podge recipe that I had found.

Using one bottle of Elmer's School glue, I dumped it into a pint size mason jar.  Then I filled the glue bottle back up with water and mixed that in the jar.

Using a foam brush, I coated the back of the thanksgiving stickers with the homemade Modge Podge.

I found I had to use my fingers, or other object, to hold the circle down while waiting for it to dry (because I'm impatient that way.)  But it didn't take long and the thanksgiving circle was on good and strong.

Candy Cup Party Favors for Thanksgiving

Since I had used Sixlets to fill my Thanksgiving Turkey Cake Box favors, I decided to use something non chocolate and found Skittles were the perfect answer.  Once again, they were the colors of fall and filled the candy cups up easily.

Now I have these sweet treats to hand out at Mini Me's school class party or to give to friends who come join as for Thanksgiving dinner.

If you want to make a few of your own, swing by Dollar Tree and pick up a bag then come here and print your own!
