In the Divergent movie and books, for faction Candor everything is black and white. The group believes in honesty above all else so they wear only black and white clothing to symbol this.
So when I was trying to decide what type of recipe Candor would contribute to our Divergent movie party, I knew it had to be something black and white.
These Black and White Brownie Bites are the perfect easy and yummy recipe for our party.
Simply start with your favorite Brownie recipe. You can use a box mix or whatever works best for you. Mix it up as normal.
You can make these brownie bites using either a Nordic Ware Cake Pops Baking Pan
I found it easiest to use Squeeze Bottles
Fill the pop holes all the way to the top of the semi circle so they will expand into a full ball. Cook them for 10-12 minutes or until the center of the brownie ball bounces back when you touch it. Use a fork to remove the balls from the cake pop maker.
My cake pop maker came with this nice little frosting filler tube thingy-a-bob. Fill it with your favorite white frosting. I love cream cheese with the brownie bites, but we're also fans of chocolate and coconut pecan frosting (but not strawberry! It sounds good, but no!)
The top part of your brownie ball will be a little softer than the bottom, so simply stick your frosting into the center and pump out a little. (It's so easy that Mini Me did the whole batch of brownie bites all by himself.)
If you want, you can melt a little of your frosting in the microwave at 50% power. Drop your brownie bite down into the frosting and roll it around. Remove it with a fork and let it dry on a piece of wax paper.
You can let it dry for about an hour at room temperature or pop it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
Now you have some yummy Brownie bites to bring to the Divergent party from faction Candor. What kind of dessert do you think Candor would bring?
