Make fun memories with your kids in April using these holidays and Special Days. Calendar comes ready to print out and place in your planner or on your family command center.
I've been thinking lately that I'd like to find some way to make a memory with my kids every. single. day.
Now that may seem a little overwhelming, but as a fun guru (yes, I actually graduated with that special title in college) I am determined to find ways to make it happen this month.
Fortunately, that doesn't mean we have to do big things. Little things are sometimes the best memory makers and the most fun for kids.
To start that challenge off for April, I spent an evening looking up all the April holidays and Special days. There are some "interesting" days coming up. (I'm really wondering who came up with some of these things?)
I mean, like April 7th is "No Housework Day". While I'm all for that, who decided that? Who went through all the work to make it a national holiday, just to avoid doing housework on one day a year. Seems like a lot of work, but I guess the rest of us housewives and working women definitely appreciate the sacrifice.
And April 19th is "National Hanging Out Day." Wow.
I'm going to use each of these special days to try and come up with a fun activity or memory for my kids. Some days will be easy, after all, how can you not go fly a kite on "Big Wind Day"? Or have Submarine sandwiches for "National Submarine Day"?
Other days will require a little work for my kids to say special "thank yous" to the local librarians on "National Librarian Day" or thank you to those who help my kids at the local Boys and Girls Club on "National Volunteer Day".
But I will find a way. If you'd like to join along, print out the printable calendar below for your own brainstorming and personal planner and then check out my facebook page everyday in April for some fun activities. And if you have some great ideas on activities and memories, be sure to let me know!
Here's to some fun memories in April!
