Wow.  It has been a crazy week here at the Kandy Kreations house.  I took off last week so we could downsize to a smaller house.  I know in the long run, it will be good for us, but that was a lot of weeding through crap, then deciding to throw it away, changing my mind to save it, and then throwing it away again.

But the worst of it is over now and I need to massage all of our "necessities" into this little house and make it our home.

Who knew I would be so thrilled and excited to get back to work on the blog today?  I have missed you guys and working on the fun projects flowing through my mind.

Now that we are moved and starting to settle, I need to find a time and date for the Girls Night Out craft party that I have planned.  While I do that, I wanted to share these yummy chocolate covered banana sewing thread spool treats for our sewing and craft party.

How to make Chocolate Covered Banana Sewing Thread Spool Treats for a Sewing Party

They are super simple to make.  All you need are some large, straight bananas, some Vanilla wafers, and some chocolate covered melts in various colors.

Start by peeling your banana.  Cut off the curved edges, so your banana is as straight as you can get it.  Cut the banana into 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch pieces.

Using your chocolate melts, add each different color to a separate microwave safe bowl.  One at a time, melt your chocolate bits for 2 minutes on 50 percent power.  Stir and repeat until the chocolate is smooth and melted.  Repeat for any other colors you desire.

How to Dip Chocolate Covered Bananas

Dip one of your banana pieces into the melted chocolate being sure to cover all sides.  You don't need to worry about the ends, but make sure the sides of the banana are smooth and covered.  Tap the banana gently against the side of your bowl to remove any excess chocolate.

Place your banana in the freezer for ten minutes until the chocolate is hardened.  Once hard, remove and add the edges of the sewing thread spools.

Make your own Sewing thread Spool Treats

Add a little bit of chocolate to the rounded top of a vanilla wafer.  Place the banana on top of the wafer so the chocolate acts like glue to keep the banana and wafer together.  Repeat for the top of the banana.

Allow the wafers to harden on top of the banana at room temperature.

Keep in an air tight container in a cool place until the day of your party.
