This is one of the projects that's I've had in my head for a while now but have been working to try and get "just right" before I shared it.  With the 4th of July only days away, I decided I needed to let my "perfectionist" side go and share it with you anyway.

As you can see though, even while I was working on it and writing up this post, I still decided to make a few changes to it.  But I am super excited with how it turned out and am ready for the 4th to get here so we can play with our sparklers and enjoy the fun.

It's a pretty easy project to make and is perfect for holding your sparklers for the pre-firework fun.  Or wouldn't this be a super cute cookie holder for some red, white, and blue cookies for your 4th of July picnic?  You could even just use it as a decoration for your patriotic mantel.

The possibilities are endless.

Uncle Sam Printable Pringles Can WRapper

Start by gathering up a regular, empty, clean Pringles can.  Print off the printables for Uncle Sam and his hat from the bottom of the page.  I found that it's best to print them onto card stock so they hold up better.

As you can tell, I changed the hat up a little after making mine.  (Still trying to be the perfectionist after all.)

Cut out around the outside edge of the blue circle.  This is the hat brim.

Now cut around the inside circle.  In my picture it's the red part.  (I decided to keep the old picture since it shows where to cut easier.)  In the new design, you'll be cutting out each of those squares, except where they meet the blue edge.)  This will allow the red of your Pringles can to show through and finish the design, while saving you ink.

With the change in the color scheme of Uncle Sam's hat,you don't need to cut out the white triangles.  Go ahead and cut them off so the red will shine through from the Pringles can.

Score along the edge of the white square and the blue circle so the squares will stand up and complete the red and white striped hat.

Go ahead and also cut along the bottom and left edge of the Uncle Sam printable.  You can leave the top and right edge.

Wrap the Uncle Sam printable around the bottom of your Pringles can.  Tuck the large white edge under the left edge to complete the design and tape or glue together.

Take off the lid of the can and slide the hat brim down over the top of the can.  It should rest up along the top of the Sam printable without trouble.

Glue the "God Bless America" circle on the top of the can lid.

Now fill your Uncle Sam Pringles can with sparklers, cookies, popcorn, or anything else you can think of to enjoy for your 4th of July party!
