Remember when we had the family Video game party with the kids?

It was inspired by the movie Pixels starring Adam Sandler.  Now, we aren't huge Sandler fans, but this was one movie that we all wanted to go see.  It's finally coming to a nearby theater where we can go see it.

So tonight, we are having a family Video Game dinner party.

I love throwing special themed dinners for the kids.  It's one of my favorite things to do. It's so much fun to break out all the decorations and the fine china for a fancy dinner.  Plus, it's an easy way to have make a special celebration out of an ordinary, boring Monday.

To start out the decorations for the dinner party, I created Tetris glass plate inserts.

Instead of the normal circle inserts for the glass plates from Walmart, I used square ones from Dollar Tree.  It was super easy to print out the Tetris pictures (the plate insert rectangles are about 6 inch squares), cut them out using my cutter, and then dab a little bit of glue in the corners of the back of the plate to put the Tetris game on to the dinner plate.

Have you ever had a family dinner party with the kids?  I'd love to see what you did.  If not, you should try one tonight!
