Find some fun reads for you and your kids with this October reading list. Here's what my 11 year old son and I read during our "down" time together.

Mini Me and I started this series together. We were listening to an audio recording of the books, but when i got a little busy, he went on with out me and sped through the series. He's actually on the 4th book right now. He listens to them on the way to and from school. When he's going to bed, and sometimes I'll find him in his bed early in the morning listening to it. We have to take his iPad away from him sometimes or he'll listen all night. What a problem to have, right?

I picked up this book because it was a simple love story which is nice to just enjoy some times when you need a few moments alone. I admit, I almost put it down several times, but kept going. I thought it was slightly boring until Toby started having her "dreams". They were fun and added a little bit of "magic" to the book. I did really like that Toby was a virgin and the couple didn't jump into bed during the whole book. It was a nice, romantic read without too much thought or sex (there is a little, after they get "married". Just FYI)

This is the second book in the Lunar Chronicles series. I read the first one a few months ago, so it took me a while to get back in to the series. I really like these books, but they are a little slow to start. When I got to about 35% (Yes, I have a Kindle
at it tells you how far along you are) is when I really started to enjoy the book.I liked this fun retelling of The Little Red Riding Hood with a little of Cinder's story woven throughout. It was a fun read and I've already started on the third book (a Rapunzel retelling ---I think.)
