Moms Emergency Box when on the Go

Make a quick and easy emergency first aid kit for your purse when you are on the go.  Filled with the most important medicines you and your family will need, it's easy to turn a pill box into Moms Emergency Box.

After having been away from home and living out of a suitcase for the past month, I discovered a lot of things that I needed to have when I was "on the go".

These things seem to grow exponentially when you have kids...especially rowdy boys who like to get hurt...alot.

I mean seriously, in one week alone I was called from the summer day camp Mini Me was attending 5 times saying he had gotten hurt.  He is an active little boy who likes to play soccer and ran into one too many walls.  Or had twisted his ankle while playing at the swimming pool.  Or had bonked his head into another kid's knee while playing at the park.

Yikes.

So I decided I needed to make my self a Emergency box, or a small first aid type kit, for when we were on the go.  It needed to be something small that I could fit into my purse and have the basic essentials I needed to handle myself and my kids.

 

 I was super excited to find one of those 7 day pill boxes at Walmart for only 0.97!

It took me a while to figure out what I might need in my Emergency box.  I wanted it to be things that we would need while we were "out and about" to handle the little problems that came up.

With all the bug bites in Texas, I added some Benadryl allergy.  I have a problem with migraines so I added some Excedrin Migraine.  Aleve and Tylenol seemed to be no brainers.  Bandaids were a major necessity.  With the stomach issues that run in my family and as I get older, we always seem to need Tums.  And I decieded to add some Breath Mints for those times we are out eating and need to go somewhere after...and for my sanity with boy breath.

After deciding on my list, I went online and did a logo search for all the medicinies in my Emergency box.  I have a sticker printable in our Printables Store with a few of the common medications if you want to spare yourself some time and energy in looking for the logos yourself.  These stickers fit the Apex 7 day bubble loc pill container or any other with a 1 inch by 1/2 inch cover.

I printed out the logos on to card stock to fit over the days of the week on the front cover.  That made my logos about 1 inch long by 0.5 inches wide.

I love my Xyron sticker maker and use it for just about everything.  I ran the printed logos through the Xyron using the adhesive cartridge.  Then cut them out and placed them over the Monday through Saturday box tops.

It was pretty simple to go through and just fill each pill compartment up with the proper medicine.

With the bandaids, I did need to fold them up into thirds to fit into the emergeny box, but I got several in there without a problem.  I'm pretty sure that's the one I'm going to need to refill and use the most.

Now you can just drop your Emergency box in to your purse and use it as first aid when you are out and about with your kids.  Just remember to keep this out of the hands of little kids since you don't want a problem with overdosing or making a big mess with medicine all over the place!
