3 St Patricks Day Printables and Dare to Share Saturday

Happy Weekend friends!

My boys are out of town tonight on a scout camping trip so I'm enjoying some quiet time alone at the house.  Which means, I'm curled up with a book, eating popcorn in bed.  Can life get much better than a little uninterrupted 'me' time?

But it's back to the grind tomorrow as I start trying to get ready for all the parties and projects going on in March.  If you are looking to start decorating and having a little St Patrick's day fun, be sure to check out these three St Patrick's day printables from last week's Dare to Share Saturday.

And my friend and co-host from Pam's Party and Practical Tips is having a little rainbow fun this week too.  If you're getting ready for St Patrick's day or a rainbow Unicorn party, be sure to go check out her daughter's first video on how to make DIY Rainbow Unicorn Eye Make-up.

I can't wait to see what you've been up to this week!

10 St Patrick's Day Food Ideas

I will admit, I'm no fan of Corned Beef and Cabbage.  So when it comes to coming up with a St Patrick's day menu, there aren't a lot of traditional options I will serve.  Since I'm determined to find something tasty this year, I went to "work" searching Pinterest and the Blog-o-sphere for some great St Patrick's Day dinner recipes.

1. Irish Nachos by Mini Manor Blog.

2. Pot of Gold Irish Potato Soup by Home Is Where The Boat Is.

3. Steak and Guinness Pie by Closet Cooking.

4. Shamrock Stew by Taste of Home.

5. Lucky Charms Pancakes by Recipe by Photo.

7. St Patricks Day Beef and Veggies by Midwest Living.

8. Green Mac And Cheese by Food with Kid Appeal.

9. Cheddar Topped Shepherds Pie by Martha Stewart.

10. The Reuben Dip by Nobel Pig.

Okay, so that last one had Corned Beef in it, but if it's on a chip, it can't be all bad!  Looks like whatever we end up doing, it will be lots of meat and potatoes and I can definitely get behind that!

I admit it, there was a moment back when all my medical problems started this year that I wasn't sure I was going to make it through the day.  (Don't tell Dear Hubby or my mom, okay?)

When I was thinking about this, I was worried that there were so many little things that I did on a daily basis without telling Dear Hubby that he wouldn't know what to do if I did pass away.  (Okay, there were some morbid thoughts for a while.)  I knew that I needed to get my rear in gear and get organized so that if something ever did happen, he would know where to find everything.

So when I finally started getting better, I decided to make a password saver page for my planner.  This way, he (or even I, as I get more scatterbrained every day) could figure out how to log into all my different accounts online.

Now hopefully, you aren't having these types of thoughts too, but it never hurts to be organized and prepared for whatever life throws at you.

So I'm sharing my Password Saver planner printable with you today.  It's available in two sizes.  You can get it in a full sheet 8 1/2 by 11 inch size, and a half page size with two password planner printables on a page.  The two planner printables are upside down from each other so that when you print it, you can cut down the middle and the extra space on the sides are down the side you bind instead of in the center.  (Does that make sense?)

To save these planner pages, just click on the picture below and it will open in a new page.  Then right click to save the picture to your computer.  Then, you should be able to use your computer's print program to print these as you would any other picture you take.

I hope this helps you be prepared and organized this year!

Easy Superhero Room Decor

Easily decorate your superhero room with these Superhero printables and night light.  Night light is the 3D FX Superman light and is so easy to put it up, you'll feel like a villian who cheated when decorating your child's bedroom.

(This post is a review of the Superman 3D Light FX from Target curtesy of the US Family Guide.  All opinions and printables are my own and are shared with lots of love and help in mind.)

Last winter, we decorated our son's room in a Minecraft theme.  He loved Minecraft and he loved his room.  But six months later, we moved and had to take it all down.

Some of it came back up in his new room, but after he turned 12 this summer, he decided he was in love with Superman like his big brother.  So he took down the Minecraft theme and has been begging me to find Superman room décor since.

He's a busy little boy who likes to wrestle, draw, play soccer, and read.  So his room décor has to fit a lot of banging into walls and late nights reading under the covers. (Yes, even after mom and dad told him to stop a hundred times and go to sleep.)

When I was looking for ideas, I stumbled upon the Superman 3D Light FX at Target.  It was perfect for his new Superhero themed room since it wasn't too childish and gave just enough light to find his book at night.

I wasn't a huge fan of the "breaking out of the wall" look that comes with the light, but he loves it.  Plus, he sagely decided that if he breaks any of the rest of his walls, it will look like decoration too.  (Not sure that completely flies with mom and dad, but his 12 year old logic can't quite be denied.)

Plus, it was super easy to set up.  I had it on the wall and lighting the room within ten minutes or less.

The vinyl sticker came with a level line so that you could make sure the sticker and light were even on the wall.  (There's not much worse than a crooked Superman symbol.  We might have to assume that Batman knocked him around one too many times.  That would not go over well in this Superman bedroom.)

Once you have the symbol level, it's easy to mark a line and then apply the vinyl background.  I've not worked with vinyl that much (I know... I think I'm the only crafter in America who doesn't have a cutting machine yet), so it took me some serious rubbing on the back of the sticker with a ruler to make sure the Superman logo symbol was applied.  Once it was, I just pulled the backing off slow and easy.

The vinyl sticker comes with Plus Signs on it, so you know exactly where to screw in your crews or push pins to hang the Superman night light quick and easy.  I loved that part.  There was no pushing in the pins and hanging the light, then undoing it to try again, then undoing that to fix it.

Once the Superman 3D light FX was up, I added two printables to each side of the night light to continue the superhero theme.  The one on the left is a new Wall Décor Printable in my printables shop called I Am A Superhero that has the same theme as the We Do Geek free print, except that it talks about the different heroes and their abilities.

The printable on the right is a black printing of the Superhero rules print that I shared here on the blog a few years ago.  It was originally for the young women of our ward when we did a Superhero party for their personal progress night but it works great for boys too.

I love how fun this Superman night light turned out.  There are lots of other 3d Light FX designs if you are looking to decorate your child's room in a different superhero or with a Star Wars theme or Paw Patrol.  I'm trying to talk Dear Hubby into letting me have the R2D2 one beside my bed (even though it doesn't go with the theme at all.  Maybe I need to redecorate my room too....hmmmmm......)

3 Brownie Recipes and Dare to Share Saturday

It's the Weekend!  Yea!
How was your week?  After looking at all the fun Valentine's posts you had at last week's Dare to Share, it looks like there was some fun Valentine's crafts and activities going on!  That's so awesome.

We had a quiet night at home with a family dinner party and lots of chocolate.  I don't think you can ever have to much chocolate.

I don't find myself eating that much, but once I brake down and start, I realize I have a problem and can't stop.  So now I'm craving all kinds of chocolate treats.  I'm so glad you guys shared some great chocolate brownie recipes last week, because I will be baking up a storm and enjoying them this weekend.

If you missed them, check out these 3 brownie recipes from last week's Dare to Share Saturday linky party.

Ever since I had our Divergent dinner party and posted all the fun games that we played, the Hidden Meaning Brain Teaser game for Erudite has been a popular printable.  I've gotten so many requests for more brain teaser printable games.

Today, I'm sharing a new one that I made while being laid up on bed rest this month.  I know my boys love these because of the fun challenge the word games create.  You can have fun and challenge your brain at the same time.

To save this game printable, click on the brain teaser below and it will open in a new window on your computer.  Then right click to save the picture file to your computer.  This should allow you to be able to go in and use your computer's print program to print it.

To play the game, hand every guest a copy of the Hidden Meaning Brain Teaser and a pen or pencil.  They must decipher the meaning of the words and pictures in each square.

For example, in the first square, you have the word "PERSONALITY" with a break in between the word.  The picture stands for "Split Personality".

And since what good is a brain teaser if you don't have the answers, here are the brain teaser answers to the word game above

Have a little extra fun this Valentine's day, Disney party,  or on your next date night with this video movie game.  See if you can guess all 20 of the Disney movies by their kissing couples.
This weekend we are having our Valentine's day party.  It's going to have a Disney kiss theme to it.  (I just love Disney, don't you?)

In planning for the party, I came up with a few games for the guests to play in between our dinner courses.

Snow White Table Decorations DIY

We'll have a pre-opener game when the guests arrive where they are given a Disney character (on their back where they can't see) and they have to ask other guests yes and no questions to figure out who their character is.  Each of the characters will be related to a decorated table of that movie and once they figure out who their character is, they will know what table they sit at for the evening.  This should help new people to get together more and get the guests talking.

Between the salad and main course, we'll have a list with all the Disney love songs.  Guests have to figure out which song is from which movie.

Lastly, between the main course and dessert, I've planned a video game so the guests have a little time to digest before dessert.  This game has 20 Disney movie kisses.  Guests need to figure out which movie the kiss is from.

I can't wait for all the fun.  If you want to join in too, here's the video game of our Guess the Disney Movie kiss game.

The answers to the game are:

1. Lady and the Trap
2. Tangled (Rapunzel)
3. Sleeping Beauty
4. Wall-E
5. Enchanted
6. Frozen
7. Tarzan
8. The Little Mermaid
9. The Black Cauldron
10. Hercules
11. Rattatuoi
12. Pirates of the Caribbean
13. Aladdin
14. Wreck it Ralph
15. Princess and the Frog
16. Snow White
17. Beauty and the Beast
18. The Lion King
19. Star Wars
20. Cinderella

Happy Valentine's Day!

Being that it's a weekday, our plans our to stay close to home tonight and have a fun dinner with the family.  So of course it was time to dress up the table and have a fun Valentine table scape.

With a quick trip to Walmart, I was able to pull together a fun table.  We'll throw a yummy lasagna in the oven and have some family fun.  Since we wanted to take it up a notch we decided to make our favorite "go to" celebration drink.

And it's so quick and easy that you can too.

I found this cute heart silicone mold on Amazon, but you can use any ice cube tray at all.  Fill the ice cube tray with apple juice and freeze.
