Girls Night Out Popcorn Bar

Everyone loves Popcorn, and throwing together a quick popcorn bar is the perfect dessert treat for any occasion. But when the girls are getting together, we need a little bit of fluff and a lot of food.  Check out this quick and easy Popcorn bar using items you probably already own!

While I love being a mom and a wife, sometimes it's nice to just be "one of the girls."  We've decided it's time for the girls to start having a craft night to get away and do some creating.  But of course, when the girls get together, we need our snacks.

So we through together a quick and yummy popcorn bar to enjoy while we were crafting the night away.  Popcorn bars are a great part food treat since almost everyone loves popcorn and the popcorn can be a quick and easy treat, or you can go all out and make several different types.

We decided to go super simple on the craft bar, so we used items that were already around the house.

The backdrop was using the PVC pipe backdrop base with a picture frame and pink fabric.  We were going with a window theme from the kids' song "I Looked Out the Window and What Did I See? Popcorn popping on the Apricot Tree."  So the center frame has a tree limb with little pink and white flowers to look like a window frame, while the fabric is hanging to look like window curtains.

I made 8 different types of flavored popcorn and put them in pink Easter baskets that I found at the Dollar Tree.  The baskets were then layered on plant stands that I found at Big Lots in the garden section.

Each of the popcorn recipes were pretty easy to make and almost all of them tasted good.  (I admit, I don't think I'll try the Pizza one again.  It was pretty fragrant and not one that I enjoyed.)

These are the flavors we made and the source for the recipe:

I also made some regular buttered popcorn and some without any flavoring.  Those were placed in wooden crates that I purchased from Walmart in the craft aisle.  I found some interesting popcorn salts in the popcorn aisle which I got and transferred into super cute glass jars from Hobby Lobby.

    The popcorn seasonings were:

    • Ranch
    • Bacon Cheddar
    • Nacho Cheddar
    • Butter
    • Jalepeno Cheddar
    • White Cheddar
    • Kettle Corn
    • Cheesy Caramel Corn

On the outside of the popcorn, I added a drink container with water and one with a Strawberry Lemonade.  To make the lemonade, I just mixed a container of strawberry Kool-aid and one of lemonade Koo-laid.

It was a super simple popcorn bar and we all had a great time snacking while working.  It's definitely going to be a repeat performance some time!
