Give your trick or treaters something to be scared of this Halloween with this fun Biohazard Chocolate Brain. The brain can be enjoyed after your Halloween guests are warned with the printable Biohazard Candy tag.
Trunk or Treat is only a week away and while I have a ton of ideas for what I'm going to do, I haven't pulled them all together yet. This weekend is the time for me to do that.
That's starts with putting together the treats I'm going to give the trick or treaters. I debated on going with some pre made candy like these Gummy Missing Body Parts or Scary Eyeballs , but decided to create my own treats with the Mad Scientist theme of my trunk.
I debated on going with the Bleeding Brain Cake balls I made a few years ago, but instead I created some chocolate brains with a fun Biohazard tag printable. Using this printable, you can add a little bit of extreme xxx to your Halloween party or trunk or treat.
To make the chocolate brains, you'll need some Chocolate Candy Melts, various mix ins, and the Brain Ice Mold.
Decide on what kind of mix ins you want in your chcoolate. Some great ideas are Rice Krispie cereal, cookies and cream bits, mini M and Ms, and Halloween sprinkles.
By adding the mix ins, you give your brains a little more of a sinester look with chunks of add ins and a yummy taste with the addition in the chocolate.
Feel free to use any kind of chocolate melts you like. I think I'll make a few with the white chocolate, maybe some with the lime green chocolate, some with yellow chocolate, and some with milk chocolate. That will give a little more variety to my trick or treaters.
Add your chcoolate melts to a small bowl and melt on 50 percent power in one minute increments. Be careful because white chocolate burns VERY easy.
Once your chocolate is melted and you can stir it to be very creamy, add a mix of your favorite toppings into the chocolate and stir.
Add your chocolate to the Brain Ice Mold. Tap the mold a few times to get the larger air bubbles out. Don't stress too much over this because the bubbles and mix ins give the brain a textured sinister look.
Refrigerate your brains for at least a half hour. These pieces are rather larger, so it's better to go a little longer than pull them out too soon.
While your chocolate brains are setting up, print out the JPG file at the bottom of the page. (Just right click and save the picture to your computer and then print.) Cut around the edges and use a hole punch to punch in the upper corner.
When hard, pop out the brains from the ice mold and place in a 4x6 inch bag. Tie the bag shut with some curly ribbon and add the Biohazard candy tag. Now you have a yummy Halloween treat for your trunk or treat kids that will scare the candy right out of their bag!
Here's the Halloween tag printable. Just right click on the picture and save to your computer.
What do you plan to give out this year for your trick or treaters? Anything fun? Do you like to give home made gifts or is it just easier to buy a bag of chocolate from the store?
