Personalize your Christmas tree with a picture of your kids! You'll have an easy DIY Christmas ornament and a great memory of your kids for years to come!
It's December 1st! Yea!
That means I can finally start singing Christmas carols. My son has declared Christmas carols off limits until the start of December. I keep trying to play the Christmas radio station, but lose the radio wars every time.
So now, I can start singing and decorating... that starts with making my personalized Christmas ornaments for the tree and checking out all the great ornaments that are part of the Christmas Blog hop.
While you are checking things out, be sure to check out all 12 days of my projects.

This year I am going to try a themed tree, and so I'm working on making a "yearbook" for our tree. Every one of the ornaments is going to have something to do with a memory or activity that we had this year.
So I'm going to include the kids' first day of school pictures on our tree. This is a lot easier than it sounds, so you will definitely want to check this Christmas ornament DIY out.
To make these personalized picture ornaments you will need:
- Darice Ceramic Christmas Ornament (I have been able to find them at Hobby Lobby before but couldn't this year, so I got mine from Amazon)
- 3x5 or 4x6 inch picture
- Modge Podge or Xyron Sticker Maker with Adhesive Cartridge
- 3 inch Hole punch
- Ornament Back Printable (at bottom of page)
Start by using your 3 inch hole punch to punch out the face or part you want on your ornament from your picture. It's really easy to do this by turning the punch over and lining up the area with where you want to cut.
Print out and punch the ornament back that you want. I have given you 6 different designs. 2 have the saying "Christmas 2017", 2 say "Merry Christmas" and 2 are blank.
The blank ones would be great for you to have your child write there name on it. Or you could write information about how big they are this year. Or anything that's personalized and you may want to remember when they have kids of their own.
I love to use my Xyron sticker maker to turn my picture and ornament back into stickers for the ornament. It's so easy to run the pictures through it and then peel off the back for the perfect sticker. The Xyron is one of my favorite crafting tools ever.
But if you don't have one, ask Santa to get you one for Christmas! In the meantime, paint the back of your picture and ormanent graphic with Modge Podge and secure it to your ornament.
Hang on your tree!
See, I told you it was super easy. Plus, be sure to sing lots of Christmas carols while you are working on these to get you in the Christmas spirit...and to spread some Christmas cheer. Then be sure to come back tomorrow to find out why you should be singing loud and clear to spread that Christmas cheer! (Anyone catch the hint in that famous line?)
