Today we are spreading Christmas Cheer loud and clear by singing loud and sharing the perfect Christmas gift for the Elf the Movie lover.
(Don't we all know at least one person who thinks the holidays isn't complete until they've watched Will Ferrell be an Elf at least ten times? Yea, you know who you are.)
In honor of the movie Elf, I have created a candy jar with all the best Elf movie quotes. And even better--- it includes one of the four major food groups-candy! But no candy canes, candy corns, or syrup here.
To make these candy jars, you will need:
- Elf Candy Jar printable
- Dollar Tree Mason Jar
- Hershey miniature candy bars
- photo paper
- scissors or paper cutter
- glue or tape
- Modge Podge or a Xyron Sticker Machine with Adhesive Cartridge
- Christmas Tissue Paper (I recommend a thick brand)
- thin Red Ribbon
Start by downloading and saving the Elf movie quote sayings and printable jar tag. You can find it in our printables shop here.
Print out the sayings on to photo paper. I really like this brand since it's not too heavy and it makes the wrappers beautiful. Cut out each of the 25 movie quote candy bar wrappers. Lay the center of the wrapper so that the movie quote is on the front and wrap the top of the wrapper around to the back. Follow with the bottom of the wrap and secure with glue or tape.
Add the candy bar wrapper Elf movie quotes to the Dollar Tree jar. These jars really are the best because they are a great price and they don't have any markings on them to mess with the tag or the gift. I love them and have used them for our Thanksgiving gift jar.
Cut out the candy jar printable tag around the border edges. The tag reads:
The holidays are filled with crazy,
With shopping, lines, and fuss
To help you find some sweet Elf spirit
Have some treats and a Merry Christmas.

I highly recommend a Xyron sticker maker with a Adhesive cartridge to turn your tag into a sticker for the front of your jar. I LOVE mine and I use it for so many projects. It is definitely one of my favorite crafting tools.
If you don't have one, you can "paint" the back of the tag with some Modge Podge to glue the printable tag to the front of the jar. Or you can even add it on top as a tag with a hole punch. Do whatever works for you.
Cut out a 5 inch circle from your Christmas tissue paper. I found this fun candy cane paper at Hobby Lobby and got it for 50% off with the sales. It's thicker than normal tissue paper so it works great since it doesn't tear as easy.
Lay your tissue paper circle on the top of the jar lid and screw on the lid. Add a little bit of ribbon around the top of the lid and tie a bow.
Now you have the perfect gift for any Elf movie lover!
Be sure to get this Elf Movie Quote candy jar and some of the other great jar gifts (Teacher Jests, Chocolate Cure Alls, Christmas Scripture Advent, or Christmas Sentiments).
