I think one of the biggest hits at our Back to School party last month was the Crayon Push Pops.  They were just so cute and popular that I ended up not having enough of them.  So when planning our Bronco's football party, I knew I was going to have to make them again.

I had a Pillsbury cake mix in the kitchen but had used a cup of the cake mix to make some Funfetti cake truffles for a birthday gift.  That left me with 2 cups of cake mix left.  Since I'm having a smaller party this time, I only needed a little bit of cake.  So I measured out 1 cup of cake mix, 1 egg, 1/3 cup of water, and 1/3 of a 1/3 a cup of oil (I just eyeballed it.)  I mixed it up and cooked it for 20 minutes in a 8 inch circle pan.

When the cake was done and cooled, I used the Push Pop containers to cut circles to fit.  I pushed one cake circle down and piped some vanilla frosting in.  Then I repeated the layers.  Depending upon how deep your push pop containers are, you can get between 2 and 3 layers into each push pop.

Since I was going for a football theme, I topped the upper frosting layer with some chocolate sprinkles to match the brown of the football.

I used the football printable that I shared with you last year and resized it to fit the Push pops.  A simple cut and glue and the push pops look like footballs now.

I was looking for a fun way to display the football party food so I made up some table cards with a Football field background.  These cards are the same design as my others table cards.  They have a triangle frame so you can place a tiny rock inside the base of the table card to keep it from blowing away if you're having an outside party.

To make the table cards even more fun, I used the technique I showed you with Gimp 2 to fill in my blank alphabet to make a football font alphabet.  Each letter has a brown background with the grooves similar to a football.  Then each has a white stitch to simulate the football's laces.

Now I have a fun treat to share with my party guests.  If you want to make some for your Monday night football game, here's the free printable.  Just right click on the picture and print from your computer's print program.

As easy as Peyton Manning scoring a touchdown!
