Maybe I'm a little crazy, but I spend far too much time each year trying to decide what my "Christmas theme" will be in my parties and decorations.  Am I the only one?

After all, it's a lot of pressure to be able to figure out the perfect Christmas party theme and craft all your Christmas decorations, your party food, and everything else around.

So I'm excited that I have the worst of the holiday planning over.

Now if only Christmas present ideas were that easy.

This year, I've chosen to go with a Santa's belt theme.  I love the simplicity of it and the red, black, and yellow colors and I've already come up with a ton of fun Christmas decorations and projects that this will fit perfectly with.

I hope that somewhere these fun Christmas ideas will fit in your Christmas theme too.

I'm starting with a simple Christmas wreath for my front door.

Santa's Belt Poinsettia Christmas Wreath

To make this Santa's Belt Poinsettia Christmas wreath, you will need:

  • Floral Foam Wreath
  • Mini Poinsettias
  • Black Ribbon
  • Yellow Ribbon
  • Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun
  • Pen
  • Scissors

Start by measuring and cutting your black ribbon so that it runs along the front length of your wreath and then add an extra 3 inches.

Cut a piece of your yellow ribbon 3 inches long.  Cut slits 3/4 inch from the long rectangle ends on both sides.  Slits should be about the 1/3 the length of your ribbon.

Thread your black ribbon through to look like a belt and belt buckle.

Remove your poinsettias from the bunch so that just the head of the flower remains.

Using a pen, poke a small hole into the foam wreath.  Add a little bit of glue to the back of your poinsettia head (where it attached to the bunch) and stick inside the hold.

Continue until wreath is filled.

Hang on door with a wreath holder, or thread a little bit of your ribbon through the poinsettias to form a loop.  (You can hide it so it's not seen.)  Use the loop and some command hooks to hang your Christmas wreath on your door.

Easy Peasy and super pretty!

Do you have a Christmas theme?  Do you stick with the same one every year or change it up?  Am I the only crazy one?  Leave me a comment and let me know.

  1. Oh that's cute. For Thanksgiving, you could do it with fall leaves and add a little pilgrim hat to the top. Visiting from Charm of home.
