For my birthday in January, I was given a cutting machine.  A Silhouette Cameo to be exact.  I have wanted one for years, but was too cheap to get one for myself.  (Why do we do that as moms? We'll spend hundreds of dollars on our kids, but not for ourselves.)

So I finally got one with all these great plans to make fun projects for my parties.  But it sat there.  And sat there.  And sat there.

Here it is May and I hadn't used it once.  It just seemed too complicated to figure out what I wanted to do with it.  So I didn't take the time.

Until a friend needed some tags made.  (Once again, I wasn't worth the time to figure it out, but when a friend needed it, I took the time.)

So I sat down and played with my cutting machine. I have to say, I am hooked now.

And I can't wait to find so many more things to make with it.  Plus, I'm revamping some of my other party favors and adding cutting files to go with them  (ahem...gum heads, anyone?)

So when I needed an easy graduation party favor for my sons to hand out at graduation this year, I turned to my (too big) clip art collection and my cutting machine.

I created these bear graduation favors filled with packs of yummy gum for both my senior and my 8th grade graduate to give away.

And they are super easy to make.

You'll need:

My gum pack measured 3 inches tall by 6 1/2 inches long (around the whole pack.)  So i cut a piece of colored paper to fit around it.  The paper folded and creased easily along the edges with just a little bit of pressure along the edge.

Use your cutting machine to import, print, and cut these cute little graduation bears.  They also have the year cut into their gown so it will shine through bringing a cute personalized touch to your party favor.

I have included the cut file with JPG, PDF, and SVG formats.

Use a piece of tape or glue to secure the bear to the front of the covered gum pack.

Now give out your gum party favors at graduation or at your graduation party!
