The amount of times Harry should have died in the Harry Potter series is staggering. In Chamber of Secrets alone, he never should have made it out. I am so grateful not to have been his mother, or even Molly Weasley. The heart palpatations...

But due to his choices, great courage, and extreme loyalty, Harry survived another book. And in Chamber of secrets, that was thanks to the phoenix Fawks.

So of course, when I was putting together our Harry Potter birthday party, we had to have Fawks' tears as part of our Chamber of Secrets survival bag party favor.

I considered what kind of candy to use for treat. I was tempted by these Cream Soda shimmer jelly beans but I know how hard Jelly Belly is having making their regular jelly beans, so the special ones are going to be way expensive right now or impossible to get. (My family owns a candy store and covid recovery is killing us with inventory problems.)

So instead I ended up going with red and gold M&Ms to look like Fawks himself.
