I was having a talk this week with someone dear to me and we disagreed on the prophet’s statement on the vaccine. She kept coming back and saying how he “strongly encouraged” us to get it and not that he said to do it.
Then she argued about how she didn’t see the point or scientific reasons for it. Everything was pointing to the opposite of it being good. And he had to be wrong.
I didn’t know what to say (guess I’m like Enoch in being slow of speech) I just kept saying there had to be a reason.
Upon reading the lesson this week and listening to the podcast “Come Follow Me for Us”, I couldn’t help but think about Enoch putting clay on his because God told him to.
I wonder if he thought about “why do that?” It didn’t make “scientific” sense. But he listened and chose to obey and was better off for it.
I have come to the conclusion the Lord isn’t going to command everything. We have to use our agency to choose to listen to His voice—especially when it is not something we want to hear. We fought for that agency and now we have to use it to follow or not. It may be something simple now but not too far off it’s going to bigger and harder stuff.
