When I hit Junior high school, I found one of my greatest joys....soccer.
I am not sure why I had never really played it before. Maybe it was because I had lived on an island until then and all we did all day was swim. I was on the local swim team and we swam on our days off for fun, both in the pool and at the beach.
But when I moved to the states, I still swam, but it wasn't the same. So I found myself falling in love with soccer.
Now I'm a "little" out of shape to play soccer and don't get to play much, except when practicing with my kids. But I love to watch it, so I'm still good.
With the 2015 Women's World Cup in full swing, I've been in seventh heaven.
Tonight is the USA vs Nigeria game. I cancelled all of our plans tonight, and we are going to sit around the tv, order some pizza, and enjoy the game.
But I can't just let that be. I want to have a little fun too.
I found some glass plates at Walmart in the housewares section. They are clear and have a four inch center circle. So of course, I needed to dress them up to get in the soccer spirit while we enjoyed the game and our favorite pizza.
It's a simple matter of printing out the soccer ball picture, cutting it out and using some clear glue or tape to secure to the underside of the glass plate. This way, the grease of the pizza doesn't harm the printable and it comes off easy enough to wash the plate and dress it up for the next occasion!
