Happy December First!

Happy December 1st Friends!
It's the MOST WONDERFUL time of the year!
Right??  Remind me again...

Okay, I admit, it's been a crazy time of year for me.  Did you notice that I was gone?

I was sure this move was going to be no problem, that I'd be able to keep crafting and blogging and sharing lots of fun ideas through it all.  As you can see, that didn't happen.

It's been hard.
And when I say hard, I mean HARD!!!!

Who would have guessed?  Not me.

We've been living in a hotel for over a month now.   Yup, all 6 of us in 2 hotel rooms day in and day out and day in and day out and day in.... (get the drift?)

I stalled in putting the kids in school since we didn't have a house and there was a possibility of us living in 3 different towns.  I didn't want to put them into school and then have to take them out 2 weeks later.  It was a crazy time.  The kids were bored.  We were stepping on each other.  Not fun.

We finally got a lead on a house and went ahead and started them in school.  YEA!!!  I figured I'd have lots of time to work now that I have all day to myself.  That didn't happen either.  One thing after another keeps coming up (like locking my purse, phone, and keys in the car?  How dumb was that?)

Fortunately, it hasn't all been bad.  I have enjoyed being with the kids more than normal.  Usually my kids come home from school and run to their rooms, to their friends, to their activities, to the TV and there isn't a lot of interaction.  So it's really been nice having more family time.  We've been playing lots of games like Apples to Apples and I'm teaching the kids to play Dominoes and other non-electronic games.  It's been fun.

And can I tell you how wonderful this hotel staff has been to us?  We are staying in the Hampton Inn and the staff here has taken my kids in like family.  They watch over them.  They bring them home baked treats.  They even helped take care of them when they came down with colds for a few days.  They have just bent over backwards to make this stay the best it can possibly be.  I couldn't have asked for a better "extended family" than we have found with this wonderful group of men and women.  I don't know if all Hampton Inns are as wonderful, but I would totally recommend staying at one!

Now that the end is in site (only 2 more weeks if all goes well), I'm going to try and get back on track.  With all the stress of life right now, I am going to celebrate each and every day.  Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy Christmas in a new home, but if not, maybe I can share a little Christmas cheer with my bloggin friends!
