Celebrating the Red, White, & Blue Soda

I am not a huge fan of soda.  I don't like the carbonation, and don't even get me started on what Cherry 7up will do to me.  So I don't drink it very often.  The only way I enjoy it is with a good Rootbeer float or in an Ice Cream Sherbert dessert drink.  (You know the kind they usually serve at baby showers?)

But I did find this yummy way to celebrate the US Olympic athletes in drink with soda and
I started with two types of koolaid, one was a red and the other blue.

I found these fun star ice cube molds at Walmart on clearance for the 4th of July.  If you can't find them, you can check out Amazon or my post HERE for lots of fun ice cube trays.

I poured one tray in red and one in blue and froze them.

When they were ready I added them to the glass and poured 7Up on top.
It turned the 7up a pretty shade of purple as they melted, but it added a yummy flavor to the soda.
Definitely a fun way to celebrate the Olympics!
