Give your friends a sweet Christmas gift with this Jelly Belly Snowman. He is a great candy gift idea for everyone who loves Christmas candy or Jelly Belly candies. You can craft him in a few moments and have a great gift idea for everyone on your list.
Don't you just love when your kids come to you with 20 minutes before they need to leave and tell you they need to come up with a gift for a Christmas exchange at school TODAY?
A quick, blood pumping, speed crafting session is always my favorite way to start the day.
There's nothing like grabbing whatever you can find around and getting your creative (desperate) juices flowing. This Jelly Belly Snowman was the result of one of those mornings.
To make your own Jelly Belly Snowman, grab a piece of fleece, some Jelly Belly jelly beans, scissors, 4 ounce size mason jars, glue dots, ribbon, a hole punch, and a piece of black and "orange" card stock. (I didn't have orange in my crafting craze, so I ended up with a yellow carrot nose.)
Fill your mason Jars up with Jelly Belly beans in your gift recipients favorite flavors. Screw on the lids.
Using glue dots, place four right on the edge of the rim of the lid. If you place the too low on the lid or up on the rim itself, it won't catch the jar on top. So play with the placement if you need to. Once you get it right, place the next jar on top to secure your Snowman. Repeat with the top jar so you have three in a row.
To create the snowman's scarf and hat, you'll need a piece of fun fleece. Cut a rectangle about 5 inches by 10 inches for the hat and one about 1 1/2 inches by 15 inches long for the scarf. It's better to have it to big and have to trim, then to try and fit one that's too small.
Starting with the hat, place a line of glue along the bottom long edge and fold up about 1/4 of an inch to create a rim around the bottom of the hat.
Place another line of glue along the short edge and wrap your hat around the rim of the lid on the snowman's head and push the glue against the other side of the fleece to secure it.
Tie a piece of ribbon around the top of your Snowman's hat so that a little bit of the fleece fluffs upward. Trim those pieces into 1/2 inch lengths.
Tie the scarf in a knot around the center jelly belly jar. Trim the edges about 1 inch up the scarf.
Use a regular hole punch and punch out 7 pieces of black card stock. Freehand cut a small nose out of your orange (or yellow) card stock for the nose.
VERY carefully, place a little bit of glue on the back of each circle and place it in a Snowman face pattern on the top jar below the hat.
Now surprise your favorite gift recipient with this sweet Jelly Belly Snowman Christmas Candy Gift Idea!
Have you ever had an early morning "Mom!" stress moment with treats or crafts that your kids need THEN?
