Throw your graduate a fun graduation party with a themed guest book that's as unique and fun as they are. By adding sentiments from guests in attendance and those who live afar, this book will be a great memory for years to come.
So I had every intention of showing you this idea last year when The Drama Queen graduated. But time got away from me (in fact, I haven't even finished it yet. How bad is that?)
With another graduation on the horizon, I'm working on creating some fun ideas for The Perfectionist. I know I'm going to have to do something a little different for him, but since I loved how this guest book idea turned out, I knew I needed to share it with you.
As you may remember, we had a Mustache Graduation party last year. So while searching for mustache party favors on Amazon, I came across The Moustache Grower's Guide. It was perfect for what I needed, but you could use just about any fun book around your theme.
I just wanted a book that was kind of small and had lots of room for writing around the pictures and in the margins.
I then set about emailing all of The Drama Queen's facebook friends. It was quite a task since she had over 400 at a time. I told them all that I wanted to create a book of memories and moments from all her friends. I then asked them to write a memory, a good luck wish, or anything else they wanted and email it back to me. Since this was all a secret gift I planned to give, I also asked them to keep it a secret.
It was fun to get the responses back. Some friends had no idea how they knew her. Some responded with fun wishes right away. Other's wrote long notes weeks later. The majority of the kids never even responded at all.
So if you are going to do this idea, plan to give the "guests" time to respond.
Once I got all the responses back, I printed them up onto regular paper using different styles and different fonts. Using washy tape, I secured the wishes and any photos or cards that were sent into the book.
I didn't want the wishes to hide the info on the mustaches, so I just made them like extra pages taped into the book.
Now that the party is over, I have a few sentiments that were sent in late to add as well as I want to add pictures from her graduation and her graduation party.
So when she comes home next week for the next graduation party, I can give her the completed Guest book for some fun memories of a great day.
