Easy and Quick Canvas Picture Decorations

I have been putting off and putting off decorating our house since we moved in over 6 months ago.

I wasn't going to do it since we were hoping to get a job promotion in the next few months and so I didn't see the point.  But now, the kids are starting school. The holidays are coming. And I am REALLY ready to move now.

What's the best way to get yourself to move? Do all the home improvement and decorating projects that you've been putting off forever.

So I finally decided to decorate the kitchen a little.  I wanted to create a fun little baking "haven" to enjoy while creating family memories and craft projects.  Since I don't have much wall space, and I wanted to be able to take the decorations with me when I moved, I decided against picture frames and instead wanted something to look more like a canvas photo decoration.  (Don't ask me the logic behind that one.)

I found some canvas panels in the craft department at Walmart and knew they would be perfect for the walls above my cabinets in the kitchen.  Then I went through my Quotes & Sayings Pinterest board for some of my favorite baking quotes.

I chose three to get started-  "I Sugar Coat Everything" from the Cake Blog, "You Can Always Save The Day With Sprinkles" from Sally's Baking Addiction, and "Sometimes You Just Need To Eat A Cupcake with lots of icing And Get Over It" by Designs by Nicolina.

I made some Homemade Modge Podge with some school glue that I picked up on sale (Don't you just love school supply sales?)  Then I painted the canvas with the glue mixture.

I printed the pictures out to 8x10 size and laid them carefully on the canvas.  Carefully smooth it out and then paint the top of the picture with more glue to seal the canvas and picture together.

I found some Scotch Indoor Mounting Tape and secured it to the back of the canvas.  Peeled the tape cover off, and mounted it to the wall above my cabinets.

I love the way it looks and my kids are already going around the house quoting them. I can't tell you how many times they've told each other to "eat a cupcake and get over it."

I can't wait to find some other fun baking quotes and add them.  I think I'll put some colorful poster prints in between the white ones to add a pop of color because I'm loving how it looks.  Now hopefully, we'll get the moving call any day now!
