Ride the Hogwarts Express for some yummy cupcakes to enjoy with your Hogwarts classmates. This free printable cupcake holder and cupcake toppers are the perfect addition to any Harry Potter party. You can add your cupcakes and enjoy the ride to some magical party fun!
I don't know many people that don't want to take a ride on the Hogwarts Express if they had the chance. After all, what's not to enjoy with good friends, magical foods, and a few cupcakes lieing about?
After I saw this Hogwarts Express train from the Funko Pops collection (I'm a HUGE fan), I knew I had to add it to my Harry Potter party. But then, inspiration struck in the form of the train cars. Wouldn't they be great to carry all our cupcakes to the party with fun Harry Potter character cupcake toppers riding along?
So I made a few so the kids could enjoy a little bit of extra magic with yummy cupcakes at our party.
And they are really easy to make if you want to run to Amazon and grab the Hogwarts Engine to bring them along.
To make these, simply print out the cupcake holder printable at the bottom of this post. I like to print mine on to card stock so that it's pretty sturdy and will last throughout the party.
Simply cut out the outside edges of the car and along the sides of the train car, up to the center box. Then score along all the other edges to make it easy to fold.
Fold the cupcake holder into a box shape and glue the edges to the outside of the train car. Press the sides together to form a box.
While the train car is drying, print and cut out the cupcake toppers of the Hogwarts students. You'll find Harry, Hermoine, Ron, Luna, Neville, and Ginny in the group.
Cut along the outside edges and score in the center to fold the toppers. They are designed to look like the kids are looking out of the Hogwarts train windows.
Fold the topper in half so the kids' pictures are on the outside in a mirror image. Add a bunch of glue and lay a toothpick on the inside of the topper. Quickly close and sandwich the toothpick inside to secure it.
Two regular size cupcakes will fit into each train car. Add the cupcakes and top with the student's cupcake toppers.
Line up your cupcakes in the train car behind the Hogwarts Express train along your dessert table.
Let the kids enjoy the cupcakes and a little bit of Hogwarts Magic.
