While villains are the theme of this year's Halloween party, we couldn't leave my daughter's favorite villain Oogie Boogie out of the fun.

Plus, I needed something quick, easy, fun, and handmade to give her for her birthday this month.  What better gift idea for the Oogie Boogie fan then a Oogie Boogie Tissue box to help decorate her home?

This is a simple plastic canvas tissue box pattern.  If you know the basics of plastic canvas, then this Nightmare before Christmas pattern featuring Oogie Boogie will be easy to sew up and gift away.

The pattern has the same design on all 4 sides with the top looking like the stitches on Oogie Boogie's bag body.

To make this pattern you will need:

  • 4 7 count plastic canvas sides cut 31 by 37 holes
  • 1 7 count plastic canvas top cut 31 by 31 holes
  • plastic canvas needle
  • scissors
  • Green yarn
  • Black yarn
Download the pattern for the top and sides below.

Cut your plastic canvas pieces out of 7 count plastic canvas.  The sides will be 31 by 37 holes.  The top will be 31 by 31 holes.

Sew sides and top according to pattern.  Sides will have four the same with Oogie Boogie's face.  Top will look like Oogie Boogie's stitches.

Join edges of sides using an overcast stitch.  Join top piece to side pieces using overcast stitch.

Overcast bottom edges and top inside edges using overcast stitch.

Use a square tissue box to fill and enjoy!
