Chocolate Themed Tablescape

I'm not planning to have dinner at my Chocolate party, but after how much fun my kids had at my last table scape, I decided to put one together for this party too.

I did this for 2 reasons.  It's good to have a "special" dinner night where my kids can practice their proper table manners and all the P's and Q's that they will need someday.  And two; just in case you are thinking of having dinner with your chocolate party, here's my ideas to share.

I started my table with a Tablecloth bed sheet from Walmart.  I bought the blue flat sheet, or at least I meant to.  I ended up buying the fitted sheet on accident and was too lazy to take it back.  It actually fit my table perfectly and was pretty nice.  It could be both a pro and a con, but there was no hanging in the tablecloth this way, so you may consider it depending upon your needs.

I purchase a yard of yellow fabric from Walmart and pieced together a table runner for the center of my table.  This was my first table runner ever, and I think next time, I may splurge the extra $5.00 and get 3 full yards of fabric so I don't have any seems.

For each place setting, I used a charger (I have really become addicted to those!), a blue plate, and the red plates I bought for last week's Chef party.  (Use what you have to save money, time, and energy!)

For half the place settings, I used a gold charger and the other half I used a silver.  The gold was supposed to bring in the M&M colors while the silver was to bring in the Hershey colors.

And of course I had to use these beautiful M&M napkin rings I made HERE and that you can now purchase HERE.

Because I have so much candy paraphernalia (and I was a little short on my fun cash after purchasing ALOT more whirlypops), I used what I had as far as the table centerpiece went.

I found "Big Blue", my blue stuffed M&M dude at a garage sale a few years ago, and I love him.  So he went at the center of my table.

He's holding this cute plastic bowl that fits the theme so well.  It has colored dots in the same colors as the M&Ms.  I found it at Big Lots in their spring section.  Inside the bowl are plain and peanut M&Ms.  (And I saved the bags for a cool project that I'm going to share next week.)

Sitting at "Big Blue's" feet are these two M&M guys.  I found them at Dollar General MANY years ago.  They are those car radio antenna topper "thingies."  But I love them.  My kids used to keep them in our church bag and play with them like dolls.  They are pretty versatile.

On each end of the table, I have a clear cake platter that I made from a plate and candlestick.  On top of that, I added a silver Hershey Kiss Fondue Pot.  (I was given 2 one year for Christmas, but you can get one HERE if you are interested.)
Around the edge of the platter, I scattered Hershey Kisses and Hershey Hugs.

If I would have had the time and money, I TOTALLY would have purchased these awesome

or these

Aren't they awesome?  Oh well, I guess I'll just add that to my Wish List and keep dreaming of more chocolate.  And in the meantime, I'll enjoy a chocolate covered dinner table tonight!
