I think I'm seeing the Despicable Me Minions everywhere.  They are just so cute and fun that I keep finding new ways to add them to my Minion dinner party this week.

While I was working on another project this week with plastic canvas, I knew these minions would make a cute plastic canvas project, but I wasn't sure how I wanted to use them.


Until I started working on my daughter's recipe book this weekend.  She is getting ready to leave to college in two weeks, and we are trying to make sure she has everything she needs.  What better way to send her off than with a Minion or two to help her cook dinner every night?

So this Despicable Me Minion notebook cover pattern was born.

It's a simple plastic canvas pattern to sew.  It only took me a few hours while I was sitting at kids' practices this weekend.

The notebook cover is designed to fit a half sheet of paper and so measures 9 inches by 7 inches.  You can use it to cover your recipe book, a journal, a scratch tablet, or a blog planner.

Once you've followed the pattern to create two Minions, you can join them together with three Metal Craft Ring.  I found these large ones at Dollar Tree, but you can find all different sizes at Walmart or an office supply store to match your needs.
