Make a yummy candy invitation to your next party using mints, mounds, snickers, whoppers, and treasure candies. You're guests will be excited and thrilled to RSVP immediately (after they enjoy the chocolate!)
Since I'm going with a chocolate theme for our next party, I figured the invitation needed to have chocolate in it too. And after seeing Practically Livings's Bridesmaid invite (that I shared HERE), I really wanted to try one of my own.
And now I'm sharing the printable and directions on how you can make your own.
First you need to gather the candy you are going to need. My printable invitation has
Mints (I used York Peppermint Patties)
Mounds
Snickers
Whoppers
Treasures*
(*this was the hardest to find since my Walmart didn't have them, but I found them at Kroger)
Now gather the other items:
scissors
ribbon
hole punch
bags
printable invitations
I decided I didn't want my Whoppers all over the bag, so I ended up bagging them into a smaller 3x4 inch zip top baggie. (You can find these in the craft section or Walmart or other hobby store.)
If you can find the individual bags of Whoppers, that would be great to use, but I can only find them at Halloween, so I went this route instead.
Now place all your candy into the big bag. I started with my Whoppers on the bottom, purely for looks. Then I made sure all my candy was turned "out", just 'cause I'm a little anal that way.
Punch a hole in the top corner of your printable invitation. Use a long piece of curling ribbon to tie your bag closed.Thread your invitation onto the ribbon through the hole. Tie it on securely with a knot.
Cut yourself some "curly-ques" out of the ribbon, using the technique I described in making candy bouquets HERE. I usually like my bows very full, so I cut 3, but decided it was too much after completing, and removed one of the pink.
Tie the "curly-ques" onto the ribbon with your invitation.
Now give your invation to all your friends.
If you want to make your own, here is the printable. Just import into your graphics program, add your party information and print. I printed mine 4 to a page so they were the size of postcards which worked perfect.
