I guess this is going to be the Christmas of Advents.

I started doing 24 days of Christmas advent with some fellow bloggers this morning.  It's going to be twenty-four days of fun Christmas crafts, Christmas ideas, and Christmas printables for you.  (Be sure to check out this morning for the first post!)

I also came up with a Christmas Advent Calendar gift idea as a great gift idea for my kids and young women at church.  It's going to be 12 days of candy treats and sweet poems to help bring us closer to Christ this Christmas.

I started the nativity advent calendar with a Christmas Angel.

I think she kicks off the whole countdown well as she "sings" tidings of great joy to remind us that Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season. Since that is the whole purpose of the nativity countdown gift idea, its perfect.  My goal with this gift idea is to help us remember the true meaning of Christmas each day until Christmas and the celebration of Christ's birth.

The Christmas Angel reminds us how the Angels sang that long ago Christmas night.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.  (Luke 2:13-14)
To make the coordinating gift, purchase a few fun size Almond Joy candy bars.  Walmart sells a 5 pack for only $1.00.

Christmas Angel Day One Almond Joy Candy Bars

Add your almond joy candy bars to a Christmas themed party and treat bag.  You can find these just about anywhere.  Walmart has some in both the craft and party sections.  Most craft stores have a great variety in the baking and holiday aisles.  You can probably even find some cute ones at the Dollar stores right now.

Day 1 of the Christmas Nativity Advent Calendar features the angel singing of Christ's birth and asking all to remember Jesus Christ is the reason for the Christmas season.

Print out the Christmas angel's poem. You can save and resize the one above or find the whole 12 day advent set as free printable tags here

If you need a different size tag or just want the angel, you can find her in our party shop here.

Punch a hole in the top corner of the tag.  I purchased this super cute Star Hole punch from Amazon to make it a little "extra" fun.  Find some fun ribbon or some Christmas themed curly ribbon and tie the tag to your Angel's bag.

Now deliver Day one of your nativity advent calendar gift.  You can do this by knocking, leaving the gift on the doorstop, and running.  You can give the gift to your friend with a warm hug.  You can give all the gifts together in a basket with each day numbered.  Or you can even mail them with one arriving each day (and two on Saturday) if you know how long the mail system works in your area.  It depends upon how sneaky you want to be.

I plan to give each of my young women this for Christmas.  I hope to plan it out so each day arrives in their mailbox to give them a great surprise to look forward to.  Then, I'll give the Sunday version to their parents and ask them to leave it on their bed sometime during that day.  Hopefully that will work and will give them a wonderful Christmas gift each and every day leading to Christmas.

Come back tomorrow for Day two and all the other days after that.  In the meantime, don't forget to share this on Pinterest and Facebook so all your friends can share the Christmas spirit this season.
