One of my favorite family fun activities is to have themed dinners with the kids.  It's such a fun way to teach manners and get them excited to be together.

But I don't think I've done one in over a year.

When I set this Aladdin family dinner tablescape, the kids were so surprised and excited.

I really wanted to go all out when planning these Aladdin Table decorations, but my family party budget allows me only to buy one new party decoration for each party.  (Otherwise I'd probably go crazy buying all kinds of stuff.)

Most of the items that I used for this dinner table setting I had from earlier parties.  So keep all that stuff  because it can easily be reused for different party themes.

I started by using a purple bed sheet for my tablecloth.  Using large bed sheets is a great way to save money since fabric is so expensive.  On top of that sheet, I layed out this sequin blue table runner.  This is the only purchase I made for this party.  I figured it was good since it was a Prime product that was under ten dollars.  And I just love the shine it brings to the table.

My original idea was to use the plastic canvas Magic Carpet as a placemat.  But after looking at it, I didn't think it quite went for the royal vibe I was going for.

So instead I used the gold place mats I got from Walmart for a Valentine dinner party.  I used Dollar Tree square glass plates.

On top of the plates, I used Walmart napkins and I turned Miss Mandie's Aladdin lanterns into napkin rings by cutting one of the sides and the bottom off.

I also added Aladdin pillow boxes filled with gold Hershey Kisses and these Aladdin kiss labels on them.

On the glass goblets, I added blue sticker gems and purple sticker gems to copy Jasmine's gem glasses from our Aladdin craft roundup.

I added the same gems to the tops of lanterns and placed them on the ends of our table next to gold colored candles.

I modge podged glitter on to three round glass globes from Dollar Tree.  Inside the globes are small tealights.  That adds 7 lights to the center of the table.  When it gets dark enough for dinner, we'll turn the lights on and enjoy the ambiance.

After dinner we'll play the Disney Villainous game and make magic carpet graham crackers for dessert.

I'm super excited about the chance to have a fun family night with the kids again.  I'm definitely going to have to make sure that we don't wait another year for a themed dinner table.

  1. This is SO adorable!!! I love the idea of just having a themed dinner with the family. I'm impressed you even HAD plastic canvas magic carpet placemats (even though you went with the gold ones). How totally fun. Pinning! :) And I just followed you on Pinterest, too. :)
