Sleeping Beauty Maleficent Dragon

My good fairies needed Maleficent to fight for our Sleeping Beauty table to be complete, so I found THIS plastic canvas pattern from Annie's Attic.

The pattern itself wasn't hard to cut or sew.  I even changed all the colors to look like the black and purple from Sleeping Beauty's dragon without too much trouble.  But putting it together was some serious work.  I'm not sure I got everything exactly as it was supposed to be.  The pattern was not very clear in the directions and I think they seriously need to work on that.

But overall, it took me only a week to work on and it looked pretty cool on the Sleeping Beauty party table.

Hercules' Muse Vase

When I knew I was making a Hercules table, I knew I needed to add the Muses somehow.  Since my skill at figurines is non-existent, I decided to add these lovely ladies on a vase as the centerpiece of the table.

It was pretty easy overall.

I started with a clear flower vase from, where else?  Goodwill.

Then, I spray painted it black.

Next I found a picture with all of the Muses on the Internet and printed it out.

I cut each of the ladies out and then lined them up around the vase.

Pretty easy!

Hercules Snakes

I had grand ideas for the Hercules table, but I had no luck trying to find the directions or supplies to make what was in my head.  I had hoped to try and make a minator or other Greek monster, but just couldn't figure out how to do it.

So instead, I made some cardboard toilet paper roll snakes to represent Medusa's snakes.

I found the idea here at Crafts by Amanda and had the Drama Queen spend the afternoon painting.  They really turned out cute in person and gave a little something extra to a rather bare table.  Plus, my boys loved playing with the snakes after!

Enchanted Table Decorations

Enchanted was another movie that I had a hard time coming up with ideas on how to decorate for.  I had originally come up with a plan to make a building and wrap a dragon around it, but could never quite get it to work right.  During the last week, these decoration ideas came to me and I think they turned out pretty cute.

I started with a light blue table cloth from my new favorite Party supply store Factory Direct Party.

Then I cut out a dress shape from the center of the table so it looked like Giselle had cut herself a dress out of it.  I free handed it so it wasn't perfect, but I think it looked fun.

Then I made a silver version of Cinderella's shoe.  I followed the same procedure, but used a silver glitter instead of gold.

I found a chipmunk to represent Pip at Jo-Anns when I was there a few weeks ago and put him on the table.

Then I represented the 3 apples that the Evil Queen tries to give Giselle.  I had a regular apple, a apple-tini, and a poison carmel apple on a helmet.

Beauty and the Beast's Lumiere

So I wish that I could tell you how to make this AMAZING Lumiere decoration from Beauty and the Beast...but I can't.  But I just HAD to share it with you since it is so absolutely wonderful....

and the most amazing part of him?

Drama Queen made him!

Isn't it awesome?

She needed to make something fictional in art class in school, so she took paper mache, some clay, a little bit of tissue paper, and some paint...and TADAH!  Lumiere.

It's super cool in the fact that she made him so a tea light will fit in his arms and head.  So we reused 

the lights from the Tangled lanterns to make him shine.  It's so cool.

I don't think I can rave enough about my UBER TALENTED artist of a daughter.

And she was kind enough to let us use him for our Beauty and the Beast table (seen here with the Princess Belle) at last week's fundraiser.  We had more than one person who wanted to take him home, but we put a body guard on him and he'll soon have a permanent home in our living room!

Tarzan Monkey Trees

Tarzan was one of those tables that was hard to figure out how to decorate for.

I was lucky in that I found these trees at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago.  They have them in two different sizes and I bought a few of each so it looked like a jungle in the center of the table.

Next I found some cute monkey graphics and sized them to be about 2 inches tall.

I cut out, punched a hole in the end, and tied a piece of string to the monkey.

I tied the monkey to the underside of the tree so it looked like it was hanging from the tree.

Disney Princess Fundraiser Tables

WHEW! This weekend was the fundraiser.

I'll be honest, I'm super glad to have that off my plate.

It ended up being alot more work than I imagined, but I think it turned out beautifully and I'm super excited about the results from each of the tables.

I thought I would take a moment and share with you how they turned out.

Snow White

This table had a yellow table cloth to match Snow White's dress.  For the centerpiece, we added the 7 Dwarf printables, the Magic Mirror, a wishing well, and a basket full of apples.

Beauty and the Beast

This table had a yellow table cloth to match Belle's dress.  In the center was Lumiere, Chip the Teacup, Babette, Cogsworth, and the Rose under the glass.  We scattered rose petals round the table to simulate the falling petals.

Princess and the Frog

This table had a purple table cloth.  I used trees found at Dollar Tree in the luau section to simulate the bayou.  I also scattered lilly pads and flowers around the table with this frog prince I found at Goodwill.

Enchanted

The Enchanted table had a blue tablecloth with the pattern of a dress cut out of the center to simulate the curtains that were made into dresses in the movie.  I added a Apple "martini", a plain apple, and a poisoned apple on a bike helmet.  I also included Pip the chipmunk and (Cinderella's other) slipper in a pale color to simulate the lost slipper that is found at the end of the movie.

Sleeping Beauty

This table had a pink table cloth with a rose, a plastic canvas dragon, and the three good fairies.

Mulan

This table had a purple table cloth and a bunhc of chinese items that one of the girls brought.  Her father had spent several years in Japan before her birth and they had a bunch of items that they were willing to share.

Hercules

This table had a pink table cloth with snakes, a chariot made from popcycle sticks and mason jar lids, and the muse vase.

Tangled

The Tangled table had a purple tablecloth to match Rapunzel's dress.  It also included a frying pan (yea, who knew?) from Goodwill, the lantern lights on a candlestick holder, Rapunzel's tower, and a lock of Rapunzel's hair.

Tinkerbell

This was a hard table to dress.  We ended up going with a pink tablecloth.  I scattered flowers or all kinds around the table and made colorful mushorooms out of felt and candle holders from Goodwill.  I also scattered butterflies around the table and a fairy glow wand from Dollar Tree.

Cinderella

Cinderella had a light blue tablecloth.  For the centerpiece, Cinderella's castle stood proud with her missing glass slipper to the side.

Hunchback of Notre Dame

We went with a fun theme for the Hunchback with a teal tablecloth.  In the center, we made the belles of Notre Dame and surrounded them with Marde Gras masks and beads.

Lion King

I did nothing to this table other than add a pink table cloth and Pride Rock from my front yard.  One of the other girls added her Lion King collection of figurines and I think it worked perfect!

Tarzan

Tarzan had a pink table cloth with a jungle of trees we found in the Luau section of Dollar Tree.  I printed off monkey clip art and tied it with fishing line to the tree branches.  We also had Tarzan and company sitting in the jungle thanks to one of the girls Disney collection of figurines.

Alladin

Alladin had a blue table cloth with a magic carpet that I made from plastic canvas.  I also found a gold teapot at Goodwill that looked like a genie lamp.  More figurines were added to sit on the magic carpet to finish off the table.

Little Mermaid

Ariel had a green table cloth with scattered sea shells.  We also tried to make sea weed by stringing green crepe paper on wire.  A glowing trident from Dollar Tree and a (half finished) Sebastian the crab completed our table.

and here's all the girls dressed as the princesses.  Aren't they beautiful?

Sleeping Beauty 3 Good Fairies

In making the three good fairies from Sleeping Beauty, I was pretty sure what I wanted to do and I think they were pretty easy and turned out super cute.  There are a lot of pictures and directions here, but they really aren't complicated, I promise!

I started with 3 long clay pots from a trip to the Springs to Michaels.

I painted the pots blue, green, and pink.

For each fairy's hat, I used cordinating color foam.  I cut a square that measured 3 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches.  Then I used the bottom of a Dollar Tree candlestick to make a circle for the hat.

I used the bottom of the paint bottle to make a circle in the center of the circle so it would sit flat on the wooden circle that I purchase for the fairy's head.

To make the hat cone, I cut another piece of fun foam in a 3 1/4 inch half circle. I used a large canning jar lid as my template.  I placed glue along the straight edge and folded it into a cone shape.

To finish the fairy's hat, I cut a sheer piece of one inch ribbon in a 10 inch length.  I centered it across the bottom ring and then glued the cone on top.

I used a large wooden ball and glued the ribbon to the bottom of the head and then glued the head onto the top of the clay pot.

For the fairy's cape, I cut a square that was 5 inches by 3 1/2 inches.  Then I tapered the cape so the top was 4 inches and the bottom was 5 inches.

For the fairy's wings, I cut a heart shape out of a 3 1/2 inch square.

I placed a little bit of glue along the bottom of the heart (yea, so the pink fairy got more of an apple shape in her wing than a heart...what do you do?)

Then I held the bottom of the "heart" together to look like wings.

To finish the wings, I glued the center of the back of the heart to the center top of the fairy's cape.

Then I glued the 4 inch side of the cape to the top of the clay pot.

TADAH!  3 good fairies to protect the princess from the evil dragon!

Hunchback of Notre Dame Bells

When I was brainstorming for ideas on how to make some of the movies into table decorations for the fundraiser this weekend, I had a hard time with a few of them.  The Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of them.  Esmeralda isn't technically considered a Disney Princess, but she's still one strong, amazing woman who deserved to have a table at our party.

But how do I do that?

I finally came up with the idea to have a bunch of bells on the table to symbolize the bells of Notre Dame cathedral.  Around the bells I hope to add a few Mardi gras masks to get the look of the gypsies at the start of the movie and maybe some bead necklaces.  I hope it will be enough to get the idea of the movie across.

I started by finding some of these glass lampshades at Goodwill.  I also used different glass tumblers and vases to get a variety of styles and sizes.

Using some Clay that I found at Office Depot, I made small balls and then flattened them out.

I then added the clay around the top of the shades to close them and give more of a bell feel.

I found a package of large jewelry beads at Goodwill and used them to make the (thingies) inside the bell to make noise.  (Have no idea what those are called...)

To make it I just tied a piece of string through the ball and around it.  Then once the clay was dry, I glued the end of the string to the top of the jars, much like I did when I made the Beauty and the Beast rose.

When everything was dried, I sprayed all the different glass jars, vases, shades, and tumblers gold.  Now I'll group them in the center of my table with the other extras around.  Guests may need to use their imagination a little, but I think once you figure out what they are, the connection will be apparent.
