๐Ÿฆƒ Add a Sip of Fun to Thanksgiving with These Cute Capri Sun Labels! ๐Ÿ‚

Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite times of year. The smell of cinnamon and pumpkin fills the air, the oven is working overtime, and there’s laughter (and a little chaos) coming from every corner of the house.

Between baking pies and making sure the turkey doesn’t dry out, I love finding small ways to make our family dinner extra special — especially for the kids’ table. And this year, it all starting with the drinks. ๐Ÿงƒ

While I  am planning our Thanksgiving dinner, I want something fun that would make the little ones feel included in the celebration — something festive but simple to pull together. That’s when I decided to create these Thanksgiving Capri Sun labels that add just the right touch of whimsy and color to the table.

They’re easy, adorable, and guaranteed to make everyone smile.

3 Summer Drinks to Help you Beat the Heat and Dare to Share Saturday

We final move in date and are looking at the end of our hotel stay.  Whew.  We are all ready to be home and in our own beds again.

That means that we also have an actual date for our Ice Cream housewarming party.  With all these heat, I'm ready for some ice cream and some cool.

I'm so glad that you guys shared some great drink recipes at last week's Dare to Share Saturday to help with the summer blahs.  I've been sharing them on Instagram this week as well as enjoying them in the afternoons when we are hiding in the hotel room from the crazy South Carolina heat.  (And they tell me it's not even "hot" yet.  I'm so in trouble here.)

In case you missed them, check out these 3 Summer Drinks to help you cool off.

My friend and co-host Pam from Pam's Party and Practical Tips has been enjoying the summer months away from her teaching job and joined in the Ultimate Recipe Challenge this week.  These Strawberry Chocolate Muffins look so good.  I can't imagine anything with chocolate and strawberries would be bad though.  But I'm certainly ready to give them a try and give her my "objective" opinion.  How about you?

I've been working on my Ice Cream party and shared a few fun projects for that this week, as well as a round up of great treats in case your kids are out catching those Pokรฉmon Go characters.  Don't forget to sign up for my newsletter this month to get all the great projects delivered directly to your inbox, as well as the Ice Cream Party Light Covers and other free printables each month.

We are on the road right now enjoying the "Great American Move Trip".  I am a little behind in my posting for the 30 days of summer free printables, but I ended up forgetting my computer charger at one of our stops and have been without a computer for a few days while trying to get a new one.

Probably not a good start to the trip, but hey, we are going to embrace the fun of summer and just go with the flow.  As soon as I get a chance (not today, because hey, we are going to the Great Wolf Lodge in Dallas for some summer fun) I'll get my rear in gear and get those past freebies up.

In the meantime, enjoy a summer drink today on me and be sure to add this simple but fun watermelon straw flag.  It's a quick and easy way to dress up your summer drinks and add a little bit of fun and whimsy to your watermelon party or backyard picnic.

3 Yummy Summer Beverages and Dare to Share Saturday

It's been a long week, but the weekends finally here!  YEA!

I'm currently traveling to South Carolina to visit my new home and check out all the deets.  I'm hoping this trip will calm my fears about the move and help me to encourage my kids to look forward to the new adventure we have coming.

For me, I just feel like I wish I could start drinking.  I don't drink, so I'm glad you guys shared some yummy beverages for families and kids this summer.  It'll keep me out of trouble and looking forward to the fun of the next few weeks.

If you missed it, check out these three summer beverages from last week's Dare to Share Saturday.

My co-host and friend Pam from Pam's Party and Practical Tips is up to some fun this week too.  She shared a yummy looking Easy Bacon Chicken Alfredo Pasta.  My boys love alfredo pasta, so I'm thinking we'll try adding a little bit of bacon to wake up the excitement next time!

How To Keep Cup Clutter Under Control

I don't know about you, but one of my biggest pet peeves is coming home and finding 20 half used cups all over the house.  It's probably worst during the summer or vacations when the kids are in and out of the kitchen all day long, but I find it to be a problem that is constantly coming up in our house.

We only have 6 people in our house, but I am always finding the cup cupboard to be bare because no one knows which cup is theirs so they get a new one.  So we end up with this...

Ugh.

I tried several different ways to deal with the problem, including buying everyone their own cups and using paint to write names on them .  It didn't work so well.  If their cup was in the wash, they would get out new ones and end up with a "hundred" of cups again.

Finally, I hit a solution that works wonderful for our family.

My kids collect these arm bands.  We seem to get them free everywhere we go, so we have a large selection.  Each of the kids were assigned a band.

Now when they get a new cup every morning, they put their personal band on the bottom of the cup.  This way, they know which one is their cup all day.  At the end of the day, they take the band off and put it in the silverware drawer.  The next day they put the band on a new cup.  Now we don't have to worry about the bands getting lost, the cups needing to be washed, or not knowing which cups is mine.

It works perfect and is so easy!

What about you?  Do you have a way to keep cup clutter under control?

Dark Chocolate Mint Hot Chocolate Gingerbread Man Neighbor Gift

Make some dark chocolate mint hot chocolate gingerbread men for your neighbors this Christmas.  Only takes 2 ingredients and a fun, free bag printable for a sweet mug of hot chocolate.

Dark Chocolate Mint Hot Chocolate Gingerbread Man Neighbor Gift. Uses only 2 ingredients and a free bag topper printable to make an easy and yummy gift.

This weekend is the final HO RAH before Christmas.  It's time for the last minute gift buying, Christmas card send off, and holiday cooking.  We are hoping to finish off our baking to give out our Christmas treat plates for our closest friends.  This year we are planning to give out mini loaves of Pumpkin Bread, Watermelon Hard candy Christmas treats, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cookie Dough Truffles, and our newest addition is these Dark Chocolate Mint Hot Chocolate Gingerbread Men.

They are so cute and make for some yummy hot chocolate!  I love the mint flavor spicing up the deep richness of the dark chocolate while sitting beside my fireplace enjoying the Christmas tree lights.  It allows me to stop and enjoy the season in the midst of all the hustle and bustle.

Dark Chocolate Mint Hot Chocolate Recipe

They are pretty simple to make too.

Start with some Dark Chocolate Candy Mint Melts and a 14 ounce can of Sweetened Condensed Milk.  Heat the condensed milk in a sauce pan over medium heat until it starts to boil.  Stir continuously so that it won't burn.  Once the milk starts boiling, remove from stove top and pour over the dark chocolate mint wafers in a glass bowl.  Stir the condensed milk and mint wafers until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

Gingerbread Man Silicone Mold with Dark Chocolate Mint Hot Chocolate

Pour chocolate mixture into a Gingerbread Boy Silicone Mold.  Place in freezer for 20 minutes to set up.

Hot chocolate Gingerbread Men Neighbor Gift

Carefully pop gingerbread men out of the mold by pushing on the back.  The men will not be hard, so you can bend them back into shape if needed.

Gingerbread Man with candy buttons for your hot chocolate

If desired, use M&M minis or other candies to add buttons and decorations to each Gingerbread man.

When you are ready to enjoy your hot chocolate, heat up some water or milk.  Add the gingerbread men to the cocoa and let them melt.  Stir well.  I like the taste of 2 of the hot chocolate gingerbread men in my hot milk, but it's up to you on the taste.

Free Gingerbread Hot Chocolate Bag Topper Printable

If you want to make a few of these for neighbor or friend gifts, I've created a bag topper poem and printable to fit on a 3x4 inch bag so you can give them away.  The poem reads:

Add a little heated milk
And a gingerbread man or two,
Then relax and enjoy the season
And know I'm thinking of you.
Merry Christmas!

Adding a Little Sparkle to your Party

If you are planning to have an Oscar party with kids, or if you have a group of adults who don't drink getting together, it's nice to have a little bubbly that's non-alcoholic at your parties.
We all love Martinelli's Sparkling Cider it's true...but not the price.
So we have our own easy version of the sparkling cider for special events in our home, and a party worthy of the Oscar's presence, surely has to have a yummy bubbly in attendance.

To make our beverage, you need one 2 liter 7-Up brand soda and 2 bottles of Apple Cider.  (We have used Apple Juice before when we couldn't find Cider and you couldn't tell much of a difference.)

Pour into a nice pitcher or punch bowl.  Serve.

I told you it was easy.

It's optional, but an Extra Yummy touch if you use some of the Apple Cider to make ice cubes for each of the glasses.  As the ice melts, it adds a little extra flavor to the drink and the consistency is super good if you have those people who like to crunch ice.

Shout Out Sunday -- Patriotic Edition

Some great patriotic ideas to help you with your 4th of July parties from fellow bloggers..

Random Thoughts of a SuperMom shared these fun Tin Can Windsocks.  I love how simple these are.  You can have your kids help you make them with items around the house, so there's not a lot of cost and it's a great summer time activity to do with them.  And they make such a great impact blowing in the breeze!  I am going to have the kids help me make a few today for hanging on my back porch.  So clever!

Room to Inspire shared these yummy and cute Red Vine patriotic treats.  We have a huge debate in our Women's group on whether Red Vines or Twizzlers are better  (I'm a Twizzler fan myself), but either way you go, these treats would be perfect for a Fireworks viewing party.  They are so cute with the blue and white paper and the red treats.  Pass these out and then sit back and enjoy the show.  Definitely going to make these!

Come Together Kids shared how to make these cool Glow in the Dark Drinks.  I CAN NOT wait to make these for the holiday.  What's better than a drink that glows? Nothing!  And it's alot more simple to make than you would think.  This is one of those amazing "Why didn't I think of that" ideas?

Pink Ink Doodles shared her 4th of July Printable.  I LOVE subway art...it's a simple, fun, easy way to decorate for any occasion.  And I have LOTS of fun fonts, so what better way to use and show them off than a cute printable?  Kalie did a great job on this one and it will be a great addition to my patriotic mantel.

No Biggie shared her 4th of July printable which would be perfect for a party favor!  I keep looking at this trying to figure out what it is exactly that I love so much about it...I don't know.  I just Love it ALL.  I like how it's 3 dimensional and not static.  I love the bright colors. (I'm a sucker for bright colors.)  And the mix of stars and stripes in such patterns just makes me smile.

Shout Out Sunday

A few sweet ideas for your summer parties from fellow bloggers I LOVE...

Crossing the Bugger-Dixon Line shared how to make this AMAZING Golf Wreath for Father's Day.  Isn't it amazing?  What a great wreath this would make for a golf party...or what about a Graduation wreath for a high school golfer?  Or maybe a retirement party?  So awesome.  I wonder if you could even change the golf items out and put in items for other sports?  Or maybe flowers for a spring wreath?  What a great idea!

Munchkin Munchies shared these awesome Corn Dog Cookies.  Don't they look so cool?  These would be perfect to serve at a backyard BBQ picnic or summer party.  They look so real and fun.  You can't help but not to want one...or two... or more.  And as easy as they are to make, you can make that many too.

Pittypat Papperie shared a fun Soda Bottle gift container.  Have you ever tried to find a way to wrap that unique sized gift?  Or tried to find a fun way to give your gift?  How great would it be to receive it in a up-cycled bottle with some serious "bling" to it?  So fun and original!  The recipient will LOVE it!

She Wears Many Hats shared this recipe for Cherry Limeade.  I don't like soda.  I don't like carbonation, but I do love a good Sonic Cherry Limeade every now and then.  And I think my hubby could drink one every day of the year...and twice on Saturdays if I'd let him.  Fortunately our Sonic is WAY across town, but I think if I can find some of the Cherry juice listed in the ingredients...I may just have one of these waiting for him when he comes home from work.  And wouldn't it be great to have this at a summer cookout?  Yummy!

Come Together Kids shared her PVC Pipe Sprinkler.  I LOVE this idea! If you've read my blog at all, you know I love to make things out of PVC pipe (that's what I use in my backdrops and photobooth backgrounds)...so I love how easy and perfect this is for a sprinkler system.  I actually can't believe I didn't think of it!  "Mini Me" wants to have an ice cream and water party for his bday next month, so I love that I could make this and add it to my 'water wonderland'.
