I spent last week at SNAP conference and oh my goodness, let me tell you, they had the most incredible room there. The Lindor Truffle company was there with a roomful of chocolate truffles. Can you say heaven?
I may or may not have stopped in every time I walked by for a little pick me up chocolate treat. After all, how can you not with this many yummy flavors to choose from? I did try the coconut truffle for the first time, and it may be my new favorite. (Don't feel too bad for the white chocolate truffle, I still ate way too many of those.)
After having them in my hands and on my hips way too much, I started thinking about ways I could use these yummy colorful balls in my Disney party.
I mean, don't they just look like little heads? All I needed to do was add some Mickey Mouse Ears and I had the perfect Disney party treat to serve to my little mouseketeers.
These little Mickey Mouse ears were super easy to create. I used my hot glue gun to glue the truffle flaps back onto the truffle to create a circle head. It was pretty easy to just put a little bit of glue on the ends and push them back onto the truffle.
I think I keep every single piece of scrap paper that I have. (Yes, it's quite the fun storage problem.) So I found a few pieces of scrap paper in the same color as my truffles. I did debate on whether to use black to make the Mickey Ears, but it turns out I hoard my black colors pretty tightly so I didn't have any to spare.
I used my 3/4 inch circle punch and cut out two for the Mickey Ears. I put a little bit of glue on the bottom and stuck it to the top of the truffle.
See how dang easy that was? And talk about a delicious treat to serve at my Disney party. These little Mickey Mouse ears are so cute and fun that I think I'll be wishing I had stopped by the Lindor booth and grabbed a few more. I guess it's off to Walmart instead...I need a little chocolate pick me up right now.
I am doing things a little different this week by not sharing the 5 features. I'm thinking I will create a special post of my favorite Dare to Share features on Tuesday, so don't freak out that your wonderful posts won't be shared or admired. I am currently at SNAP blog conference out in Salt Lake City. I admit, I was super nervous about coming to this and I'm still super nervous about being here, but it's been an absolutely wonderful experience. I am so glad that I got to do this before all the craziness of moving starts next month.
I wanted to share a few things that I learned this week for all you wonderful bloggers that stop by and share your projects. It's only fair right? Maybe I'll make this a regular feature on Dare to Share Saturdays. Would you guys be interested in some blogging tips and things that I learned? Let me know in the comments what you think.
I'm definitely not the biggest or best blogger, but every now and then I learn some awesome tips and by sharing them, maybe I'll find a little karma and be able to help others at the same time.
I just got out of an amazing class on Instagram by three amazing bloggers, Violet Tinder, Lines Across, and Canary Jane. (I'm not sure I can use the word amazing enough after this weekend. These new friends are totally inspiring and awesome.)
I think I wrote 5 pages of notes and can't wait to check out the class write up to look over all the things that I could have/should have noted. The five things that I learned the most from this class are:
Branding is the key to success -- Be consistant in your feed, your point of view, your posting times.
Find your voice -- tell your story, your why. Let people know who you are and why you blog
Ideas to share on Instagram -- exclusive content only to IG, share teaser photos, don't use text in pictures, include bit.ly links in bio to track clicks
Don't use hashtags in the caption, add to first comment -- @violettinder uses * * * to separate first comment and hashtags from her caption.
Track your analytics -- what time, hashtags, and types of post do best? Track for a few weeks to a month to find out. Can use apps like Followers, Crowdfire, Planogram, and Iconosquare.
And a bonus tip that I received at the end and feel is so very important, not just with Instagram, but with everything you do --

Our soccer season is starting to wind down. We only have a month left in our spring season and a few more games left to play and enjoy. Awesomely, we are number 1 in our district right now and the excitement is running high.
I can't definitely say this is so, but I'm sure my yummy team treats before each game has definitely helped raise us to our #1 status. Okay, maybe not, but it has been fun to make these and cheer the boys on each week.
This week's treat is a Granola Bar with a fun tag attached. The granola bars are relatively cheap and you can get a box of 24 at Walmart for about $5.00. Unless you have a super big team, that should cover your for your team treat this week.
Here's the free printable. Simply right click and save the tags to your computer and print out on to card stock. Cut around the tags and hole punch a corner. Then tie the tag on to your granola bars and watch your soccer team gobble up the treats and spit out the goals!

Add the kisses to a 3x4 inch bag, you can find them on Amazon here or at any craft store. Right click on the bag topper printable at the bottom of the page and save it to your computer. Print it onto card stock and cut the toppers out.
Fold the topper in half and staple on to the top of your bag of kisses. Now surprise your kids with these candy kisses and watch there excitement grow.
